Ah, the Gong Show...loved that show.
I always thought that Chuck Barris was always so wasted but he never was.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_G...with the,and got the Gong Show job by default.

Barris was working so loosely that some viewers assumed he was intoxicated from alcohol or other drugs. Barris later recounted, in an interview with the Archive of American Television,[6] that he was never drunk, and that he would not allow the use of drugs in his production company.

Mine was red. It had a gearshift. I think it also had a spring thingy for the front forks.
It had a wide slick tire in the back.
The gearshift was similar to this one.

Fancy! I used to ride wheelies on that wide rear tire like mad. I think my record was 5 laps of our one block neighborhood! I also rode it "no hands" all the time - what great memories. =)

Thank you both for your service.

Because of you, I can live in a country that allows me the freedom to argue about dampers.

It isn't something I take for granted and I am grateful to you both for being able to sleep without too many worries.

Thank you.
Thanks !

And now we return to our regularly scheduled posts about dampers, how tacos suck, and all the silliness we get to enjoy in this beautiful country.

Yes, we have our flaws, but it's a pretty friggin' amazing country with even more amazing folks like you (damn it, I'm getting all weepy-eyed - quick, spray me in the face with some graphene!). =)

I had the RD 400 Daytona, my first attempt at Drag Racing
motorcycles .
In late 1977 I went in a store and saw the new Cycle World magazine with an article about a new super bike the new Yamaha XS 1100. Jumped in my truck and drove to my dealer after buying the magazine. Got one of the 5 he had alloted. Picked it up in Feb on a below zero day and froze my ass off riding home even with a snowmobile suit and gloves. That one almost got me in jail a couple times. Great cruiser that impressed the young girl that I am still married to. Bought a wind jammer and Shoei bags eventually and 600 mile days were easy on that.

I had a Yamaha RD350 that I could ride a wheelie for miles.
Yamaha 80, then Suzuki RM80, lastly a Husky 250. Nope, couldn't do more than pop it up for a second. But I loved to flat track and jump.
Yep, I wore my cowboy boots when I rode. :D

Only rode dirt bike. First time I was on a street bike I lost my balance turning around in a parking lot. Never got on another street bike after that. :(

I had an old Suzuki PE 175 for a while that was fun. We had an old railroad bed right down the road that was about 12 miles long that had several hilly farms along it. I had a bad habit of wiping out in mud with it.

One of my best friends had a Yamaha RT 360 1970 that had been laid down one to many times. The kick start peg had the ball on the end ground off sharp and the rubber sleeve was gone. I was going to take it for a run and before he could say the timing was off and kicks like a mule starting sometimes ? bam. It kicked and slipped off my arch from my sneaker right up from my ankle bone to my knee. I look down and a huge ribbon of my skin is hanging off the peg. Then the bleeding started. Ya it was pretty bad. One of the girls with us had some sanitary napkins and we taped 2 to the length of the gouge. Like good old boys off to the bar anyways! Waitress looks at me and says what happened to you? My buddy replies, he’s on the rag! That the most colors I ever turned in one sitting

I feel old.
They don't build people like they used to. :)
.
Perhaps we all remember the commercial:
"Dupont - better living through chemicals."
.
My generation grew up on pop-tarts.
That's my excuse. :p
