Perhaps we all remember the commercial:
"Dupont - better living through chemicals."
.
My generation grew up on pop-tarts.
That's my excuse. :p

We had Ovaltine and Bosco. Kellogg's Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and Sugar Pop's were our cereals.
None of the watered down milks we have now, no low-fat or fat-free...our milk was fat...fat...fat loaded..

A bunch of kids on this forum. In '71 I had been back from Vietnam for 6 years and was doing lineman work as a contractor.
Thank you for your service! =)

You allow me the luxury of having damper discussions on this forum. I never take that for granted when my biggest problem is so trivial, thanks to unselfish people doing the extraordinary.

Thank you Kent.

Same here I lived on Cream of Wheat. I loved Ovaltine but didn't care much for Tang. I only drank it thinking I'd be an Astronaut one day. ?‍?

I used my dads KEM plastic or something indestructible playing cards that would last for weeks. Plus the little generator whining while rubbing on the tire to make one candle power of light.

Remember in the mid to late 60s when the government released all the old surplus cheese and peanut butter to schools. Every school lunch for years included a chunk of American cheese and paper cup of peanut butter. I don't remember anyone being allergic to peanut butter back then. What changed?

Oh how I loved the variety pack of small boxes.
I occasionally could get my mom to buy a box of sugar frosted flakes with Tony the Tiger on the box. She didn't think they were worth the price when you could buy corn flakes for 1/2 the price and put your own sugar on. Then years later a gas company started giving out tiger tails to hang off your gas cap with the slogan put a tiger in your tank.
