I did and forgot all about those. Boy I thought I was cool pretending to be a race car drive in my bedroom. lol
The memory that sticks with me on that is I had to switch seats with my brother so he could get his turn. Like we were in a real car! ? Just slide it over on the table and go, but no…. ?

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I'm too old for Big Wheels but they did look fun. I had my green Schwinn one-speed Sting Ray with banana sit and sissy bar.

Man, I had so much fun with that bike when we lived in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Mine was a Western Flyer one speed, banana seat, raised handle bars, called the "buzz bike." Beautiful blue (seeing a pattern with me yet?!), drag slick rear tire, both tires had red racing stripes (red walls?). Loved that bike. Still remember the Christmas morning I got it. Must have been about 6.

Edit! Found a pic on the good ol' web. Talk about memories.
Edit 2: Yes the blue did make it faster.

What about an Etch A Sketch? All my friends could make cool stuff and one made his whole family including the dog, I could barely make a stick figure. ?‍♂ :frown: That got thrown in the back of the closet until my sister got old enough to play with it!

71 I was still in Vietnam …:bandit:
71 I had been home from Nam, and been a cop for 2 years.
Thank you both for your service.

Because of you, I can live in a country that allows me the freedom to argue about dampers.

It isn't something I take for granted and I am grateful to you both for being able to sleep without too many worries.

Thank you.

Battery discussions involved the Diehard Brand - as many may know this was once a Sears brand, along with Allstate, Craftsman, Kenmore , etc - all I believe have been sold off, I recall family shopping trip to buy clothes, toys, applinances, tools, sit on Santa's lap, and yes maybe even a DieHard , Sears "where America shops" a blast from the past. I remember my last trip to a Kmart, maybe 10 yrs back, depressing, few customers, empty shelves, burnt out lighting, but I still have my 2.5 ton Penske floor jack bought at Kmart some 40 yrs back - it has jacked off (oops typo) countless times and still works perfectly. And as it so happens with 7 kids we piled into a Ford Country Squire - gifted to my father by a friend when his Plymouth wagon died, for a while we made shopping trips to the local A&P and bought the grocery home in an american flyer wagon. I think I remember some Rodney Dangerfield routines ("Let me tell you when I was a kid") about how poor we were, lol

Mine was red. It had a gearshift. I think it also had a spring thingy for the front forks.
It had a wide slick tire in the back.
The gearshift was similar to this one.

This is gonna sound bad, but I "think" I might have had one. It looks SO familiar to me. If I didn't, one of my friends must have!

My dad had a Plymouth wagon like that and it burned a ton of oil. We would take a 5 gallon can to Sears Automotive department and buy recycled oil for a couple cents a quart. Finally the engine blew and we got a Pontiac Safari wagon that was my favorite car. My dad got a ticket on the Taconic State Parkway doing 80 mph in a 40 on our way to the World's Fair in NY in it. The GE carrousel of progress was my favorite attraction. I think it was around 1964.

as it so happens I recall going to that world's fair with the boy scouts - recall that big sphere there. keep remembering stuff now - we did a lot of trips with the boy scouts - NYC, Washington DC, and they were paid for by fund raisers - anyone remember selling these door to door - Tom Watt kits ?

Besides the toys we played with who could forget these tv shows. The Dating Game, Hollywood Squares, The Gong Show and The Newlywed Game were just some of the funniest shows with so many bloopers. ?
