Been looking at adjustable remote resi shocks and struts for a while now, I keep coming back to BP-51 and Fox 2.5. Does anyone have any experience with either? Bonus points if you have some experience with both lol. Open to other suggestions if you think something would fit my setup better

I'm looking for a softer ride at low speed, lots of stumps and roots in florida and bigger rocks in the mountains. I dont do high speed desert type riding, I live in florida and see family and friends in West Virginia and Tennessee annually. So slower more technical trails. The truck has at least 400 lbs in/over the bed all the time and I'm planning on getting the ARB summit bumpers and steps and a winch. I've had bilstein 5100s and I have eibach struts/springs now (not the pro version), and icon leafs on the 3rd setting.

I have the Fox 2.5, and love them a very good balance both on and off road usually have them adjusted to the middle setting. A little overkill for what you are doing and the same with me, but I figured get them instead of doing 2.0 and then changing to 2.5 like some people have done. The only issue is the adjusters are sort of hard to know where they are set, but you get used to that after a couple of times. Need to adjust all the way down, and then carefully count the clicks up.
Two questions, I also have the Icon Leafs, and I started with option 3 thinking I had a lot of weight usually at least 600 to 800 pounds with everything included. The back was raised over 2 inches even after I let them settle, and a couple of off road trips. So I went to option 2, and the truck sits nice and level with the factory lift on the front shocks. It was just a little short of 2.5 inches of lift. I also tried mounting my spare like you have it on the bottom of the rack, but it bothered me too much every time I looked in the mirror. Is that something you get used to, I removed mine after one trip?

Yeah I know they're overkill for me, anything with adjusters will be but I want them lol.
The eibachs give me 3" up front, that's why mine looks more level on option 3. I'm guessing you didn't have as much weight over the rear or I have more than I think lol. My rear is about 1.1 or 1.2" higher than stock. I have a retractable bed cover, the rack, lights, awning, spare tire, 2 tool boxes with tools and a spare alternator, and recovery straps/ratchet straps in the bed all the time. And factory spray in bedliner.

I knew the rear view would be useless, I got this on Amazon for about $150 a couple weeks before i mounted the spare there. The camera is mounted on the back of the rack and it's also a front and rear dash cam.
What was the second question?

Thanks you answered both of them.
I think the difference is you have more lift in the front then I do. The weight seems to be about the same I have everything you mentioned minus the Alternator. Never thought about mounting a camera in the back good idea. Maybe I will do that I do not like the full size spare under the truck.

So I cant speak too much for the BP-51's from ARB but I can give you a bit more information to make you want to lean towards them.

To start Old Man EMU Suspension from ARB is designed for Touring/Overlanding. Basically saying you can ride on the street and the trail while being comfortable. Old Man EMU also focuses on lifting the vehicle only to a height that would be beneficial. Nothing to high or too low. When you get the entire BP-51 kit you will also get the basic rear leafs. You can get other leafs as well depending on your needs.

Lets talk about those leafs real quick. There are 3 different leafs available. The basic, medium and heavy load. They are all designed to maintain lift height(1.6 inches) at a predetermined load. The basic is 0 lbs at lict height, but will level the truck out at 780 LBS(had these on my 2019). The medium are designed for a constant weight of 660 LBS at lift height. The heavy can handle 1320 LBS at lift height. At the wheight you are at is would be between the basic to medium leafs. Probably the medium springs due to the mods you have planned.

Now for the front springs in a comparison. You did state you want to add a Summit bumper from ARB. Not going to lie, its a nice choice in my opinion as you get great protection added. Well with a heavy bUmper(and possibly a winch) you will need a suspension to hold it. Well I contacted Fox a while back since i was wanting to do the same thing. They said i would have to go to a custom shop to get the springs I need........... Yeah I did not like that idea. Old Man EMU BP-51 on the other hand can be adjusted for stock, bumper or winch, or bumper and winch by setting spring preload. This I found out from ARB.

If you ask me it already sounds like Old Man EMU is the better choice. Also when you look at it you get more "Bang For Your Buck" when you go with Old Man EMU.

Hipe this helps you pick your stuff
