Common Ranger issues over the past 8 years?

Not sure we’ve covered this one, but since the Ranger has been around for the better part of a decade, what have been common issues with the Ranger before it ever made it stateside? Any common rust spots? Common structural issues? Basic issues that transcend trims? Things we should know to look out for?

This would obviously not include any engine/trans combo since ours is unique to the US.

Cab, doors, bedsides, everything else. Suspension is not unique to the US, the tuning however is. Vehicles are pretty complex, there's way more to it then what you've listed. I'm more concerned with rust points, like cab corners and bed wheel wells which are steel.

And the suspension is different on the US model. Rear suspension is completely different. I believe the front is as well, but would have to investigate.

No need, as I noted... I'm mostly concerned where common rust points may be on the body. The majority of which is shared across all world versions. Though any other common issues that may be shared across all versions would be cool to know as well.

Interesting question with some relevance...

Body issues such as rust vary widely from state to state and by the maintenance and service to which the vehicle is subjected.
From country to country across all hemispheres conditions vary. Manufacturing and parts content vary as well.
Certainly the maintenance and service to which the non-US trucks are subjected is different as well.
I live in IllAnnoy where the weather and state road and snow policies are down right hostile toward our vehicles, while many of you live in climates and conditions which coddle your trucks.
If you drive offroad through every mudhole and over every sharp rock and put the truck away filthy, you can expect different results than if you stay on dry roads and put the truck away clean.

With all these variables the question becomes nearly moot....
Look under your US built Ranger at the interface between the rocker panels and the underbody.
Look at the design of the interface between the inner and outer fenders.

Some of these new Rangers will rust and fall apart but they are not likely to be prone to do so.

I use the automatic car wash in the winter time to flush as much of the road salt out as possible. Beware, some car washes recycle the water so the are basically using saltwater in the winter time, I asked my car wash and they do not recycle water for just that reason. My wife's 04 Dakota that we just traded for the Ranger had no rust issues while my 04 Taurus had rust on the left rear wheel well and that was a common problem with that style of Taurus. Hoping the Ranger will hold up as I tend to keep vehicles for a long time.
