It's almost cold enough down here for seat heaters. Lol

37°!!! I wish. Never hit 20° and it has snowed all day here.
We were in Custer, SD for a week back in June and loved it there! We went through all the main areas there and up to Deadwood then back down through Spearfish Canyon. I would move there tomorrow if it wasn't so cold there. I keep trying to talk myself into it but then look at the weather app and shiver just thinking about it and it's only early November. ?

I'm originally from MA so I know all about single digit days and sub zero nights and as brutal as the heat is here, it's easier to deal with than those temps there.

@AzScorpion Dave, don't you have the extended warranty? Get that HVAC fixed......... I was also worried about mine but they did a great job and there are no squeaks or rattles after I had mine fixed.

I do have one Chuck. When it first happened (still under the 3/36) I called and they told me I had to drop it off for a week just for them to look at it. Then they said once they got the parts it would be another 7-10 days to do the job.o_O Of course they have no rental cars now either. They used to have a great service manager but he's gone now so I don't trust them to do it right. It's only 15 minutes to manually do this so it's really not a big deal twice a year.

And why not replace the part? Sorry, maybe I'm really confused as to what's wrong.

The heater box itself is warped so the whole thing needs to come out. The only way is the dash (and I think center stack) has to be removed. It was a problem on the 2019 and some 2020's.

I had to manually switch the HVAC actuator back down to the heat position on the drivers side. Now that it's disconnected and I've had it all apart back in May it's a 15 minute job. Still better than having the dealer rip apart the whole dash to fix it and then take the chance of squeaks and rattles afterward.

Apparently I'm more of a wimp than I thought as it was only 42 degrees yesterday morning and even with my seat warmers on high I was freezing! ?

Drop the main cover first

The take the 4 screws out of the metal brace.

Once that brace is removed you can see the broken white actuator (over the top of the duct) and just push it down (up is for AC) with a long flathead screwdriver.

I see your Magnet...where's the iron? Mine's mounted under the steering column...
