I seems reasonably accurate based on what? Seems you are just wild a&* guessing that it is reasonably accurate. If you don't check it against calculating, how would you possibly know? Mine was about 12% off. I had to recalibrate it, now it is "reasonably" accurate.
you are complaining about your mileage, yet you don't have a clue whether the source you are using is accurate or not.
My hand calculating averages about 1MPG worse.

Thats nice, but that doesn't mean the Op is the same. Mine was off by about 2.5 MPG. After a couple calibrations it is really close.
BTW, I would guess that you found out by hand calculating VS the indicated.
The Op was just guessing that his was "reasonably close"> HOW WOULD HE KNOW IF HE NEVER CHECKED IT?

Ok chief. You are shouting. Why? Are you offended that I haven't "hand calculated" my mileage? Whichever the case, take it easy already. Geez. Have a beer.

If you hand calculate it and it's off you can correct it with the link below. Mine was off about 1.5 mpg until I corrected it and now it's dead on. It does take 5-6 (sometimes more) tank fulls to correct itself. I know some don't care but when you're OCD like I am this works.

I like mine to be accurate also. I did an initial calibration and then had to do a fine tune twice to get it real accurate.
But my whole point on the above posts, was that the Op did not even check the accuracy of his displayed MPG and is using that source to complain about his mileage. To me it is pretty basic to check the accuracy of your source

I agree you should always hand calculate, I use the Fuelly app. I wasn't referring that you didn't care (but many here don't) just giving him a way to correct it if he want to.

So if I'm off 1.5 mpg and I'm currently getting 16mpg, I'm not sure I'll be all that happy. :)

It's not the first vehicle I've had that calcs mpg. In this case, I reset everything after my last fill just to start with a clean slate. If it's off 1.5mpg and I'm getting 22-24mpg, I'm not worried. Time will tell. I'll certainly keep an eye on it either way. BTW: I'm almost 60...It's not my first vehicle if you get my drift.

Almost laughing at this thread. I'm not interested in calculating my fuel mileage down to the decimal point - Lariat's Trip Computer does a reasonably good job.

What I want to know is how far can I go once the 'low fuel' warning begins flashing red!?!? I feel like Captain Kirk down to my last photon torpedo and about to loose Impulse Power.... "Scotty, give me all you got!!!"

If one had ordered the 'Dick Tracy Special Edition' the boost from the extra lighting would have given them an extra 2 mpg!

20,000 miles from past experience with non-turbo motors. Lariat is my 1st vehicle with a turbo motor.
Sorry Joe, your wrong, hate to say it but break in is about
250,000 to 300,000 miles, once you brake the engine.

Mileage threads are pointless. Some go by the lie-o-meter, some hand calculate, some figure over an entire tank, some cherry pick the data.

Put gas in when it needs it. End of discussion.

Depending on highway speeds, fuel mileage does suck. 65mph 17mpg, 75mph 15mpg, anything above that 13mpg. Just got back from 1,700 mile trip, just interstate speed limits. Tremor has 4,000 miles on it. Got a good dealer, visiting about service/recall on a F350 I got, asked about My Ranger, said to bring in and they would check the tuning/settings. Said they have had a couple not tuned correct from factory. Should be doing at least 20-23 mpg. Usually after tune/adjustment can get 5 mpg better.

This is kinda funny to me , in the very early 80's, when we started messing with trucks and tires and mods and such , we would brag on who was able to get the WORST milage , and embellishing the other way ...
