I don't like that at all.
Ask if you could get a copy of the recorded document of the damages. I would contact Ford and tell them what you are up against, you don't want a truck that's been in the body shop. Escalate it quickly with Ford. Either Ford should knock off a nice chunk of the price, or should build you a priority 1 new truck.
I know I wouldn't want to order a new $35,000 and know it had been damage history.

I would not like it either. Brand new truck and already a body repair? At full price?

Will the damage repair show up on the vehicle history? That would be a big consideration. And I would agree with Robert. I know it is a wait, but I would push for a rebuild as a priority 1 and a new build. And it may be a 2023 at this point.

With the new Ranger sitting at the dealer, waiting for us to pick it up Saturday, had to say goodbye to this old work horse. This was my dad's truck that he bought new in 1993. I feel happy, but kinda sad. ?

Just sold my 2005 F250, so I'm now down to "just" the 2022 Ranger (as far as trucks go). ;-)

Oh, and I just received my $1000 check from Ford for the "Retail Order" rebate!

I’m thinking I’m going to tell them 5 grand off and I will keep it if the paint matches… If it’s not on the vehicle history report. If not I think I’m done with Ford. I will have some things for a ranger for sale then… One is an ENGINE COVER!!!! LoL…

I would agree with all of that. On a selfish side, if you do decide to part ways with Ford, I would/may be interested in some of those things (especially the engine cover).

I have a Redarc elite v3 trailer brake, weighssafe 8 inch drop aluminum adjustable hitch, engine cover, weathertech floor mats front and rear, 12 volt accessory plug for bed the Australian one I can’t remember the name, ford splash guards, tailgate dampener, and a bed net that you can put groceries in and such. If they don’t get right we can deal.

Oh and two ford tie down loops that bolt in the bed that are missing from the factory.

I have called Ford several times today. All reps I talked with say that it is between me and the dealer. No support from Ford. We will see how the pricing and quality of the repair goes. If this falls through I may look into a 23 or 24 GMC Canyon AT4. It’s a beast. This gen ranger is my favorite though.

If you really want action, be prepared for the results. Post your story on Twitter and tag ford. You’ll receive phone calls.
Ford will take a public shaming much more seriously than any strongly worded email

I disagree, I don't think it should be between you and the dealer. Who ships the truck out to you. Is it the dealer or Ford? Until it shows up on the dealer's lot, I would say it's forge responsibility to get it shipped to you correctly. I'd fight this one. Make a huge stink about it to Ford. don't lighten up on them.

Sorry, I meant I was disagreeing with Ford saying it was between you and the dealer. They're just trying to pass the buck. They're the ones that shipped it out they're the ones that hired the shipper. The dealers got nothing to do with it showing up at their lot.
