Many of our local sewage treatment plants here do this, the methane produced by their anerobic digesters is fed back into the plant and used to run converted diesel ships generators to power the plant. It means less less methane released into the atmosphere, saves the plant power bill and means more importantly the plant can still run - albeit at reduced capacity during blackouts.

yes link to article where stale beer and wastewater in the land down under is used as well in power generation, not meaning to be overly offensive as it's a matter of personal taste but I'm thinking this might be a good use of Foster's - stale or otherwise.

No offence taken, I'm not a huge fan of Fosters myself, it's hailed as some sort of super duper beer over seas but really it was a pretty ordinary mass produced beer over here in it's homeland. There are many many better brews made here.

actually Foster's is also brewed in Texas and the UK, although I'm a fan of the aussie Paul Hogan (Foster's means beer in Australia ad) I don't care much for the beer.

Interestingly it was actually first made popular overseas by a couple of low budget, funny, but also cringe worthy Australian movies from the 1970's called "The Adventures of Barry MacKenzie" and "Barry MacKenzie holds his own" They were filled with Monty Pythonish style humor with an Australian twist which is why they went down so well in the UK and the beer which was used and promoted at every turn was of course Fosters Lager.

It (Fosters) virtually disappeared off the shelf here in the 2000's although some bottle shops still stock it. CUB's major brands seem to (still) be Carlton Draft, and VB (Victoria Bitter) also known colloquially here as "The Green Death" due to it's bright green can / bottle label and propensity to cause hangovers. I'm not huge fan but my work mate loves the stuff, so I sent the attached photo to him a while ago for a stir when someone left a few here after a BBQ.
