Some political fools (not scientists for sure) thought it was a good idea to blend corn liquor (ethanol) into motor fuels for peacetime distribution....The Jim Beam decision makers must be imbibing a bit too much of their distillation to do such a thing, and to think it will actually be cost effective as well as environmentally positive, when will this madness ever cease ?

yes link to article where stale beer and wastewater in the land down under is used as well in power generation, not meaning to be overly offensive as it's a matter of personal taste but I'm thinking this might be a good use of Foster's - stale or otherwise. Many of our local sewage treatment plants here do this, the methane produced by their anerobic digesters is fed back into the plant and used to run converted diesel ships generators to power the plant. It means less less methane released into the atmosphere, saves the plant power bill and means more importantly the plant can still run - albeit at reduced capacity during blackouts.
From the URL you quoted above, I first thought Beam was making bourbon for our gas tanks... This would give a whole new meaning to "drinking and driving"!
No offence taken, I'm not a huge fan of Fosters myself, it's hailed as some sort of super duper beer over seas but really it was a pretty ordinary mass produced beer over here in it's homeland. There are many many better brews made here..

A lot of breweries are doing sustainable stuff, one I know of and I think makes some good beer is Sierra Nevada :

The Budweiser of Australia ??No offence taken, I'm not a huge fan of Fosters myself, it's hailed as some sort of super duper beer over seas but really it was a pretty ordinary mass produced beer over here in it's homeland. There are many many better brews made here.
actually Foster's is also brewed in Texas and the UK, although I'm a fan of the aussie Paul Hogan (Foster's means beer in Australia ad) I don't care much for the beer. The Budweiser of Australia ??
Exactly!The Budweiser of Australia ??
Interestingly it was actually first made popular overseas by a couple of low budget, funny, but also cringe worthy Australian movies from the 1970's called "The Adventures of Barry MacKenzie" and "Barry MacKenzie holds his own" They were filled with Monty Pythonish style humor with an Australian twist which is why they went down so well in the UK and the beer which was used and promoted at every turn was of course Fosters Lager.actually Foster's is also brewed in Texas and the UK, although I'm a fan of the aussie Paul Hogan (Foster's means beer in Australia ad) I don't care much for the beer.
