Since I can leave well enough alone... made my 7th adjustment to this bed cover. Little more flush n the rear. Still struggling to keep my bed rail caps from deforming... thin ass metal on these trucks.

Eibach 2.0 kit fronts are installed waiting on my rear replacement to show up then I will put those on! Overall there was a lot to unbolt and rebolt but it only took me and my buddy 2.5 hours with even running to the parts store for a 36mm socket! Also did the rear damper so I’m team damper now haha

Was it Krause Family Ford?
Nope. They are closest to me, and also have the worst reputation. Even with some local Ford employees. Will do a post later, but it is Pugmire in Cartersville.

I bought my wife's Lincoln Corsair at Pugmire Lincoln in Marietta two years ago. It was an easy in and out back then. Glad you got it worked out in the end.

Oh yeah! I was looking at two STX FX4 trucks they had advertised and the advertised price wasn't the real price. F' them!

Tidwell was at least up front with there lack of willingness to deal.

Tested out the rear locker on my fx2 and got first mud on it!! Way, way way way way different than my 2020 xlt 4x2. Huge difference in shocks and tires. Rear locker made a huge difference!!! I can imagine a 4x4. My experience with off road is only humves and duece and 1/2s. Military trucks. Not jeeps or rangers.

Yes, unfortunately the bed is very thin and easy to bend and dent

I have a Truxedo Low Pro on mine, and the same thing occurred.
And, yes, the bed top rails do curve down about 6-8 inches from the rear of the bed.
Lay a ridged flat along the top rail and toward the end there is about a 3/8 to 1/2 inch "drop" at the end.
No way to get around it as, at least with the Truxedo, the side rails are to ridged to "bend" to the contour.
I have the Lo Pro as well and it’s been frustrating to keep it adjusted so that the latch consistently connects. I’ve removed it and reinstalled twice and have had to fiddle with it a lot. It’s been ok the past couple of months, but it seems to move a lot with temp swings. I had Truxedos on two prior F150’s and they were care free, but not so much on the Ranger. I’ve been tempted to ditch the Lo Pro try something like the BAK Revolver since it latches on both sides. I may be wrong, but it seems like that would be a better system to keep the cover aligned on this truck.

I think the rails get out of adjustment because of the clamps coming loose over time due to the bed lip being so thin and only about an inch or so. I don't think the clamps can get a good "hold" on the bed lip.
I gave up after the clamps loosened up several times, and just screwed the toneau rails to the bed lips using some hex head self tapping screws. Used some 3M double sided tape to seal and stainless self tappers every foot to attach the rails.
Been almost a year now and no problems.

Agreed about the rails. In my case, I think the clamps get loose because I often have to use excessive pressure to get the latch to close. Your comment about the bed rail being 1/2“ lower at the bed makes sense, because the last time I adjusted the rails I raised it about that much at the bed out of frustration and it has been more functional since then. It seemed excessively high when I did it, but it has worked better. At this point, I’m reluctant to permanently attach something I’m not very happy with.

I figured 6 small holes on the side lips of the bed wouldn't hurt, and since they go thru the plastic bed rail covers, could be easily repaired and hid if I ever remove the cover. The Ranger is a long term keeper and when the time comes to part, I'll be too old to worry about it.
I will tell you that since I permanently attached them I've had no trouble snapping the rear cover down and latching it.
