So after having my 2019 ranger 4x4 xl for a little over a year it has started this odd thing where the right side almost feels like it's going over a series of small bumps and gets worse the faster I go. I took it to get 4 new tires and an alignment and the problem was still there. I'm by no means a technician, I've only done minor repairs on past vehicles so I didn't really know where to start. The rear shocks were incredibly spongy so I replaced those hoping it might fix the issue but although my ride is smoother now the problem is still there. The most surprising thing to me was that this started at around 40,000 miles. I don't really haul much in it other than my toolbox and I've never taken it offroad or hit any serious potholes. Jacked up all four tires and there doesn't seem to be any abnormal play in them and the tie rods seem to be in decent shape. Had someone test drive it and they didn't think it was a wheel bearing issue so I'm kind of at a loss. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this especially at such a low mileage or have an idea what it might be. It's also kind of hard to tell for me if this is happening on the front or rear but I'm certain it's on the right side.

If you have ruled out ball joints, tie rods, and wheel bearings, a bulge in the tire, a bent rim, alignment or balance, then hmm.

Only on the passenger side?

Rough all the time? Like a rumble strip? Or just rides more rough than drivers side over the same terrain?

Could it be lane keeping assist?

I even took it back to the shop that put the new tires on and they rechecked the balance and alignment and had no idea.

Yeah like a rumble strip all the time but not quite as intense but only on the passenger side. Also no lane keeping assistance.

Sounds like it could be your lane keeping assist. Is your truck so equipped? Is it turned on? Do you ride right in your lane?

Bad front shock?
I suspected that might be the issue as well but with all the stuff I described to different mechanics, not one of them said it. I mean it makes sense right? The rear shocks were terrible so I figured it was safe to assume the front probably isn't much better. Figured I'd do the rear first since it was the easier of the two to do myself. Would it be doing that even on smooth roads though?

No road is perfectly smooth and good working shocks absorb a lot of vibrations. At the same time the tire can start bouncing at a certain frequency without properly working shocks and can cause the same issie. Or they wont compress smoothly and are seizing up, which would cause a rought ride.
