OK good people, let’s try to keep this light hearted.

Who will admit publicly they’ve used these snake oils in the past?

Guilty as charged?

Who will publicly admit they’ll use in the future. OK, just one as one is long gone.

Never have, never will...not needed.
Back in the 60's we would load up the oil with half oil and half STP to thicken the oil up and hide any leaks...didn't flow too well, but did stop the oil drips.
If you use it, maybe you'd be interested in a bridge I have for sale. San Francisco area, lightly used, still lot of life left in it bar any earthquakes...
Cheap, PayPal accepted.

That STP sticker on your back window had to lower your ET by 2 seconds easily.

I met Richard Petty once at an autograph signing event in Martinsville. The line was long, and I was literally at the very end of it so I got to watch him interact for a good while until he got to me. He was gracious to everyone in that line the whole time. A class guy, in my opinion.

I think I may have used a can of STP in one of my early cars. It likely happened on a pay day from my after school job at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I think I didn't like the pull top lid and the fact that it was thick enough to assault my budding OCD about getting my money's worth into that crankcase. End of my STP story. :)

I have used marvel mystery oil additive in the past. That was before sea foam came around. For keeping engine clean they both work awesome. But with our engines I’m reluctant to use them.

With all the different materials that make up our engines, and all the sensors, the very tight tolerances , ect, I would be hesitant to put anything in that wasn't recommended by Ford.
And, materials, sensors change often, and I don't believe the snake oil manufacturers change their formulas that often. What might not have hurt an engine 10-15-20 years ago might be a death sentence to our new stuff.
5W30 synthetic, period !!!

Happy to see the thread turned into something worthwhile - as a discussion of STP. Pic of Andy Granatelli's trench coat from museum of natural history and one where incredibly he wasn't (shoehorned ) wearing it.

Life is rarely fair as when moving I attempted to sell both my wife's and my London Fogs, both in like new condition and they ended up in the Goodwill whereas Andy's in on display for posterity.

STP is the racer's edge.

I will add, before my Theory of Everything days, the Slick 50 early claims of magnetic PTFE kind of turned me off to that product. :)

I'm still waiting to see if graphene has any benefits. I know they're testing it on quite a few different platforms so the word will be out fairly soon if it is a benefit or a bust

One of the mods here has reported that it works great as a KY substitute.

I won't say which one.
