Indeed, Frenchies are adorable mutts and make wonderful companions...if you can tolerate their obstinance.

Of all the dog's which have come into my life, Pierre, without a doubt is the most fiercely territorial canine of all, he protects my home and family like no other. This trait extends to when he is in my vehicles and in public with certain people, if he senses that you are a threat in any way, he'll most definitely let you know.

Earlier this year, after our daily afternoon car ride/walk, I stopped at a 7-11, it was just about dusk and left him secured in my beater CR-V with the windows down. A hapless homeless individual decided he'd help himself to some spare change I had on the center console, he obviously did not see Pierre as he reached into the car. While I was in the store I kept an eye on the car and saw the homeless person's actions, accompanied with the car rocking to one side (Pierre weighs 40 pounds) along with the homeless person yelling "f**k.

Pierre took a chunk out of the parasite's right thumb, I suspect the homeless person got a frightening lesson in life that day.

Pierre enjoyed a steak dinner later that night...

If he senses you're a dog person (which sounds like you are) you'll be just fine...especially if you've treats for him...
Yeah, I have always contended, I could teach most dogs quadratic equations with enough treats. :)

OK, don't laugh.

We do hook our dogs harnesses with a strap to the seat belt anchors. Haven't needed it yet, but it does give you peace of mind knowing they won't be complete projectiles, flying through the windscreen...
