A friend of mine was taking a look at my Ranger ecoboost engine and pointed out the turbo recycles instead of having a blow off valve. Apparently, this would get the sound you are missing.
and people say trucks arent eco friendly our engines even recycle

All love tho tbh with most stuff I identify and agree more with yall than I do my generation lol
I hung out with an older crowd growing up and still do now. Some of my good friends out here are in their mid 60's - 70's and you'd never know it. Plus you can learn a lot from us old whippersnappers. lol

Experience outranks everything, and as yall can no doubt tell I don't really agree with the prevalent political beliefs of my fellow gen zers

Yeah this is possibly a stupid post I realize but I've always wanted a turbocharged vehicle largely for the cool sounds. Well imagine my surprise when I bought my first ever turbo truck here and I cant hear it at all. My dad had a '16 Expedition with a twin turbo 3.5L and those things whistled pretty loudly which I loved.

So, without doing major mods like intercooler pipes and stuff, is there something I can do to possibly hear the turbo a little bit? Just curious.

Thanks.
Put a mike under the hood and pipe it into your speakers. lol

ABSOLUTELY I installed this Injen Cold Air Intake - PF9071WB and now can clearly hear the hiss of the turbo as well as the whoosh of the blow off valve. Very nice. No to mention improved power and better gas mileage https://goturbo.net/injpf9071wb-inj...rbo-wrinkle-black-pf-cold-air-intake-pf9071wb

Simply change your air cleaner... That will give you plenty of turbo noise. The BOV is only for that Puushhh sound when you raise the go pedal. My Audi TT is actually annoying to drive with all it's noises, or yeah maybe I am too old.

You're the man! Was about to purchase this and noticed the link you shared is over 100$ cheaper than anywhere else.

Also used the code fall to save an additional 15$

Pipe, filter and heat shield, will let you know my experiences. Wont be for a while though. I had to get it mailed to my cousin in Oregon since California is lame with the CARB stuff. Did just add the CVF hot and cold intercooler kit over the weekend, if you want to read about it here. Def can hear the turbo spool now when I step on it.

Probably should mention I am also tuned and running AWE Tuning 0FG Dual Crawler Cat-Back exhaust. Possibly everything in combination had to do with more turbo noise.

SCORE. Be ware though, the truck stock is said capable of fording 31" water. the stock air box has its intake at the top of the front end. The one that comes w/ this intake is just a baffle to interfere w/ engine heat, open @ the front and sides , so water over about 20 inches may begin to touch the filter. I am going to mod the original air box to accommodate this intake to improve fording depth.

Not just a pipe. The intake kit has a larger air filter surface area, and the pipe going from the intake to the turbo in is very smooth, nice and round. So increased ease of sucking in air, so improved HP: "Dyno Proven gains of up to 14 hp and 13 lb-ft. of torque" (Not that any aftermarket maker would inflate the truth) https://injen.com/i-30498853-injen-pf-cold-air-intake-system-wrinkle-black-pf9071wb.html. And yes, absolutely lets you hear the turbo whine and popoff valve whoosh, just a bonus, not the reason I installed the intake kit.
