Ford Body Shop (who installed my Mud Flaps today) told me they are getting a rash of "fit and finish" issues on the Ranger from hood alignment (which I have) to doors and beds.

I did not have them tweak my hood.. (hood to fender gap widens toward the front on my right side) I told them not to tweak the hood to fix it as I don't want paint cracking issues. nor having to tweak fenders to align the hood..) I can live with it.

Not sure I would live with doors not being flush or beds misaligned which he mentioned and as I read here.

Still, love the truck,

Would buy another..
I would suggest everyone who is buying these trucks check all body seams thoroughly as there are problems solving these issues after the fact

I’m gonna take my truck to my go-to body shop to see what they say about my hood.

This is where the Tacoma blows away the Ranger. Fit, finish and paint.
Fit isn't bad on my Ranger except the tailgate has a bigger gap on the passenger side. I do have a paint over dust spot on a door too. No biggies.
After having a '99 and '09 Tacoma, it was very tough for me to go Ranger but the Sync3 and power had me taking a shot with Ford. So far, so good.

That's really bad and would drive me nuts.

Yours has an overlap issue. I would definitely try to have them realign it.

The color white also makes body gaps look worse than a dark color.

Your right all around, also when I go to the dealer and get it washed the fuel tank filler door opens and gets beat up, need a better latch system. We need to complain to Ford so they rectify the problem, final Insp didn't do a good job or didn't care

Plastic fenders are more likely the culprit than the hood.

My passenger side fender tucks under the hood slightly and probably could be shifted towards the driver's side slightly but the rest of the hood alignment is spot on so I'll leave it be. No issues with doors, tailgate or hood.

My buddy who can fix anything could not live with my hood being off. He popped the hood and repositioned the fenders. They had to be pulled out 1/4 on the driver’s side and an 1/8 of an inch on the passenger’s side. The first picture is before and the second is after the fix. The third picture shows the fender bolt after the1/8 inch adjustment.

Dang, Ric. I don't see how that hood line passed a quality inspection at the assembly plant. Or even at the dealer when they did a PDI once over to check it in. I realize they may have been scrambling to put out trucks to keep up with demand but that is not right.

Thing is, I had a long check list when I took delivery of my Ranger. The two items I did not pick up on were the bad injector, (I thought the hesitation was normal), and the bad hood fit. Luckily, both were fixed at no cost to me.

I just noticed driver side of my hood has a slight overlap that wasn't there earlier or at least I didn't see it. Could be from opening and slamming the door shut. So along with the tailgate with a bigger gap on the passenger side, the hood is a problem.

Called my dealer service and they said they will look at it and if they see if they can fix it or they'll send it out to a body shop.
