What’s the other part of “almost exclusively“? Was it off-road and maybe through water? I’m just wondering as I’m in the same mileage range as you, and many are even further along without an issue like that.

It seems like a one-off but a steep cost to you, sucks for sure,, sorry to hear this.

p.s. the reason I asked the above is because something that hasn’t changed over the years is that having drivetrain components submerged in water means they need to be inspected and if they use fluid or grease they really need to checked/changed.
Sorry I missed this comment. Other than easy highway miles it's just back country roads. Thinking about it I don't think I've ever taken this truck off road. Lots of 4x4 snow in the winter

End result the entire rear end is shot. Looking at almost 5k in repairs. 73k almost exclusively driven on road/highway. Wheel bearing at 50k now this I'm not impressed with this truck. As a mechanic myself I'm meticulous with it always changing the oil and keeping up on maintenance and already the oil has the presence of fuel in it as well which doesn't impress me either. Oh well it's possible I got a lemon I have always had terrible luck.
I am of the opinion that these trucks are poorly designed and prone to failure. Precious few will go the 150K mileage percentile (without major $$ outlays) that Ranger Phil says is the standard that Ford builds to.

Sorry, but I am just not seeing it.

When they took it apart, they may not have reassembled it in phase, causing the driveshaft to be out of balance.
Technical Service Bulletin SSM 50443
2019-2022 Ford Ranger – Rear Driveshaft Yokes Appear Out Of Alignment/Phase

2019-2022 Ford Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2-piece driveshaft that has a slip yoke in the rear driveshaft will appear to have the front and rear yokes out of phase by about 15 degrees. This is a normal appearance and considered design intent for noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) purposes and no repairs should be attempted for this condition. Do not submit a warranty claim for this condition.
