Tell me about your winch install

Can you post an up close pic of the setup.

Do not mess with the radar sensor it is very sensitive and the wiring is notoriously fragile as others here have learned the hard way when they try to relocate the emitter, if you need a winch honestly I'd do a hitch mounted one, can take it off when you don't need it keep it safer and you keep the fancy electronics intact, and though others will swear differently the fact is the radar is meant to be mounted dead center by moving it to the side and changing its position radically you will be screwing up the readings it gets as it is specifically calibrated to be right there and bases its readings and inputs on being in the middle

Also as a fellow floridian who gets into mud and stupidity I almost never need to pull myself forward in the rare instance I do get stuck i always need to be pulled back not forward cause forward would mean drowning my engine and a grenaded alternator rear is the move cause even if you are using it to pull someone out like a tacoma that tried to follow you you can back up to them and get them

Just another data point - I was concerned about relocating the ACC sensor but thus far, I've not had any issues with it working correctly. I have to say, I still don't trust it 100%, but it is absolutely functioning as well as it did in the factory location as far as I can tell.

I really like the flexibility of being able to mount the winch either front or back as needed.

The ACC relocation was easy. Easily the easiest part of the install. The bracket I used moves it up. Still center and not off to the right.

Looking for ideas on installing a winch on my 2022 Ranger Lariat Tremor. I really want to keep the Adaptive Cruise Control and lane keeping. I've heard that there is a winch tray add on that keeps the factory bumper intact. Ideas?

I installed the Shrockworks winch mount and their supplied adaptive cruise relocator. I posted a thread about it. Easy job. The wiring rework was easy also. It’s normal 20g wire. A few connectors, heat shrink and a few feet of 20g wire. Easy peasy.

Thanks - I wish I had seen this bracket before I bought the one I got - this seems like a better solution. But at the end of the day mine works and it is done, so.....

Keeping an eye on this thread for anybody who may have the ARB summit bumper. I really want that thing but need to make sure my truck will still fit in the garage...

I took the existing bracket and just moved it over a little. That way I didn't need to cut the acc wires, I wasn't excited about that. Would have been nice if the hitch receiver had been offset a few inches and then the acc bracket could have just stayed in its stock location.
