One category missing is ergonomics. For me the Tacoma seating position sucks (comparing to the Colorado).

Ya, I think the Tacoma seating is terrible. Im 6’3” and my head almost bumps on the roof. The Ranger feels way more spacious because the seat can be lowered. I didn’t notice how bad the Tacoma was until I sat in each of them 15 minutes apart. That removed the Tacoma from consideration.

I had the 2017 Tacoma 4 door 6 ‘ bed I personally think the ranger blows it away
Faster better fuel economy quieter inside more technology the long term test will be how it last 200,000 miles down the road and then some

Faster? Better MPG? More tech? I call BS.

$47k? My FX4 came home at $36k so with $11k to play with, I think I can beat that Taco easily:like:

The Tacoma won fuel efficiency but the ranger won off-road capability? This is the exact opposite of what all the experts on the internet have been telling me!

They are both nice trucks, but Toyota's engine/transmission combo took the Tacoma off my short list. Any truck I buy has to produce solid torque down low, that is an absolute 'must have' in my opinion.

Me too. The engine/trans combo in the Tacoma completely ruins what is (mostly) otherwise a good truck. The powertrain in the Ranger is its best asset I think. It totally surprised me with how much I like it. Not that I don't like other things about my Ranger, but the powertrain is amazing.

You think the Tacoma is faster, has better MPG and more tech than the Ranger? He said the Ranger blows the Tacoma away, so I interpret that to mean the opposite.

Agreed. These two trucks represent both ends of the spectrum when it comes to powertrains.

Ranger: 310 lb-ft @ 3000 RPM
Colorado: 275 lb-ft @ 4000 RPM
Tacoma: 265 lb-ft @ 4600 RPM

Nope.....just comprehension issues. Been a long day. Misread the post.
