Yeah, this is the unfortunate situation at almost every dealership right now. I was telling people it would be 1 to 2 weeks before we even got a chance to diag their car, and they would understandable be upset. Then I would point outside to the lot and explain that every vehicle they could see was a customers vehicle in for repair, and their jaws would drop. We easily had 200+ vehicles on the dealer lot that were in for diag and repair!!!!! It's insane!

Is it a labor shortage?

What do people typically do, just rent a car?

like i stated earlier in the thread i would of already gone aftermarket if it was more $$$ for shipping than the leafs themselves up here. so was trying to just get some oem ones till i go back to lower 48, but damn guess im riding on the bump stops the rest of the summer.

I had a check engine light come on an the local dealership was actually pretty good an upfront with stuff. They told me they are short on techs but they try to schedule for what they can handle. I Got the first appointment in morning when they opened an was out in 2 hours. They ran the code an did a software update. It came back. They did the diagnostic an ordered the part. Again 2 hours. They scheduled the repair in 3 weeks because that's when they will have a loaner car available. They took the option to wait off the self schedule page of their website an if you can an tell them you have to wait they say ok but it could be all day. Not ideal but they are doing what they can.

Labor AND parts shortages. Mostly labor, but the parts are really jacking up the situation too. I've seen a lot of people renting cars. I've seen a few special cases where people have been getting loaners, but we had more people on the loaner list that cars. It sucks. :(

ya the shit part is they have a picture of my truck said ya its clearly broken, but they wont order the part till it fully comes into them for an appointment. So with that being an appointment end of september who knows when the part would even show up. like damn its just a leaf spring i can put it in myself.

Might not hurt to contact Ford direct an point out it's a safety concern an they won't even order the part.

Those do look borked. Or rather they look bent.

Did you jump it?

Where are you located in North Carolina?

I just swapped my FX4 leafs for a set of Tremor leafs and you can have my old ones if yours are toast.

How much did the Tremor leaf springs set you back? I might be interested in doing the same thing.

Junkyard leaf packs then switch them out for the broke ones right before you drop it off to get fixed :) not sure how many salvage yards exist where you are, but I could probably find dozens in my area.

Even if they didn't break, I'd imagine that level of borking would wreak havoc on the rear tires and wear them out quickly.

I priced the wildtrak springs shipping rate from England an it was just under $500! IF Dr is offering the springs for free paying just shipping will be pricey but probably worth it for the safety. When I ship something big an or heavy I used my buddy's business account it seems to be way cheaper, like 25-35% cheaper.
