Another mile hike and you come to the next lookout called Ramparts Overlook. Again, more great views from different angles and from there it's about 1/2 mile hike to the end and the arch.

This one I took to try to capture how high up it is and how close to the edge I was. The things I do for R5G.?

After about 1/2 mile past the last lookout you reach the end and the arch. The first picture is when you turn the last corner and it's hard to spot off to the left.

After getting these shots from far away I hiked slid down the hill to a ledge closer to the arch to get these last ones. Even Annie said the pain in her knee was well worth it in the end. That is until she had to hike the 2 1/2 miles back out of there.

Thanks again Bob for pointing this out last night as we'd have never know about this trail and the arch at the end! :like:

After we finally made it back to the truck we drove up the street and there was a few overlooks along the way. This last one had some really great colors as the clouds were rolling in and changing them as we were standing there.

Glad you found it!! And Annie made it too!
It was a great day and thanks again for recommending this hike. I was really shocked she made it to the end and I'm sure she's going to feel it more tomorrow but nothing a few Aleve won't take care of. ?

Oh man that Aleve crap is naproxen just horrible on the gut and start brain fade after a few days. Even our military won’t use it. I don’t even know how it stays on the market. Advil is ibuprofen way better on the gut and processed through the kidneys, not good for diabetics. Tylenol is acetaminophen and processed through the liver so not good for drinkers. Aspirin is useless in altitude because it can’t oxidize in the blood stream.

They all have their place but drawbacks.

However GREAT pics and I hope Annie well!!! Loving the adventure!!

She's doing well thx! She just woke up and said "boy am I sore". lol She really is a city girl who's never done any of this before meeting me. She says she does it to please me but after we're done she's smiling and says she had a good time.

I rarely take any of these maybe a couple times a year. Funny because ibuprofen kills my stomach if I take it where Aleve or Tylenol are fine. Brain fade? ? This explains a lot now. ?

What really works amazing for muscle injuries is a TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator) machine. In the last few years you can buy them without doctor prescriptions. Places that do physical therapy use them extensively. They are micro shock units. They use stick on pads with leads attached to them. What it does is makes the body release its natural pain numbing secretions.

I got a sore back much of the time and a bum shoulder. Slap the pads on and for 20 minutes take the treatment. Afterwards I get major relief! It’s a godsend. Hunt around, this is the one I’m using and it’s highly rated.

These are great!! I got into a motorcycle accident years ago and my PT used this machine on my back. To say it was a Godsend is an understatement! Luckily I haven't needed one since (my back gets sore but not enough to buy one just yet) but I'd recommend anyone with back problems to invest in a good one.

I was thinking more in lines with knee therapy for pain.

That would work great! :headbang: Don't mind me I'm still half asleep. ?

Right now she could use a large one that does the whole body. lol

Wow Dave you and Annie have had quite the awesome vacation. Such fantastic pictures WOW.
Thanks,
Thanks Mark! It's been way more fun than I had planned and we're finding different things to do a long the way. Now we both don't want to go back home but it'll be fun planning next years adventure. I'm glad this has given others ideas for their trips and looking forward to others giving us tips for our next vacation.
