Might not be full proof but nothing ever is. Locking fuel caps, home alarms, or whatever security device you have, ultimately it's there to encourage the thief to visit the neighbors instead of you!

Ford had the forethought to reduce the temptation of gas theft from these Rangers because they built them with teeny tiny gas tanks. No self respecting thief would waste the time stealing gas from a Ranger. ?

It may be a solution to the evaporative emissions codes which are WAY too common on Fords with that stupid filler cap.

I would doubt it would seal enough to prevent the evap leak codes.

Here in the Philippines both my Ranger and Everest the gas cap(door) is locked via the door locks.

That's true about anything you buy, I didn't buy one. I was just putting it out there, because I saw so many questions about a locking gas cap. Won't be posting anymore stuff.

I wish Ford would have just made the fuel door where you have to unlock it from inside vehicle like my car does...most people will go to easier pickings

My 93 Pathfinder has a lever by the drivers seat you have to push in order to open the gas door. If manufacturers would stay with this idea it would be awesome in my opinion. The electric ones can still have problems over the cable ones.

I sure wish the Ranger had the lever or push button. Better than being able to press the door open and then no fuel cap lock
