Good decision
Yeah it was a fun stop the last time we were out here in 2019. Definitely not worth paying for again. lol

Monument Valley was worth the added miles to loop around, it's interesting to see how things were formed back then. I really wanted to stop at Valley of the Gods but it was getting late when we passed it and I was exhausted from only sleeping 4 hours the night before.

Have a fun, and safe trip brother. Just a thought, some of the most fun we've had is when we took "the wrong turn". So, don't sweat getting lost. There's beauty in this country at every turn.

Like this. Who says you can't off road in a plastic car. :)

The Cuervo cut off (Old Route 66) in New Mexico. See it all brother Dave...................

Looks like a great trip is ahead. Arizona is on my list of places to retire to. My wife's not sold yet...thinks it will be too hot. I told her it's a dry heat.:fingerscrossed:
All I know is that I'm tired of New England winters and want to retire in a warm climate.

Safe travels and enjoy!
Do your research, not all of AZ is in desert.

Thanks Brother!! Yes sometimes the most fun is when getting lost and exploring new areas. We have several small 1-2 day trips between our longer stays where we'll be just "winging it" as we go. Sometimes these end up being the most fun! :D I'd feel more comfortable doing it in my Ranger than a Vette though. lol:giggle:

Might as well trade it in since you got it "dirty"...?
We got pine pollen rain going right now. It make my truck look like his from dirt. I decided to start dropping a massive tree in my back yard. Clouds of the stuff looked like a fog bomb!

Kind of a relaxing day today. We went into downtown Durango just to relax and walk around and to see where we need to be tomorrow to catch the train up to Silverton. I had my first Buffalo burger today at Carvers Brewing Company which I think it was Doug @D Fresh recommended and it was a very good place to eat. Will probably try Tequilas after the train ride tomorrow night when we arrive back.

Durango is an older western town with some nice restored old hotels. This one called the Strater Hotel and has been fully restored. We were able to walk all through the first floor and being in construction my whole life I love looking at stuff like this as the detail back then was amazing. Notice all the detail and wallpapering on some of the ceilings.

Saw this HPR Ranger at a stop light. I thought Scott @Scottopia was following me trying to steal my damper. ?
