It's a state of emergency! Due to supply issues gasoline powered vehicles have been reduced to 55mph to ease consumption and save the planet! (Watches Teslas fly by doing 90 from the slow lane, gets home just as the brownouts start and so can't cook my soy and bug souffle.)

No sooner do I post my smart Alec remark I come across this article.

Motorists Shocked After Disturbing Message Pops Up On Fuel Pump

Digital rationing is on its way

https://patriotnewsfeed.com/america...ump-says-sorry-youve-reached-your-fuel-limit/
I wouldn't be surprised if the credit card companies along with the gas stations could get involved in this too. Average price x's so many allowed gallons and stop the pump when it reaches that dollar amount. Most stations have a $100.00 (or at least they did before) where it would cut off but at least then you could make another transaction.

This is thee LAST thing I'd want here! I don't want Ford or any manufacturer monitoring my speed. Lets let the police handle the speeders and the manufacturers stay the heck out of our business! What could go wrong?

One would think that Ford would want you to speed so that they could sell more trucks and parts when you wreck. Maybe it is just a public facing thing to keep them from being sued for making vehicles that are capable of going over the speed limit.

I don't always carry my wallet and when I had the Jeep I could jump in knowing my ID was with me at all times. I think they just added MI recently.
So you forget your wallet but always carry your smartphone?

look at the flip side of that concern...speed limits were in place because it's a dogs breakfast of morons on the highways. The more idiots, the slower they go.
control them all, and you can safely increase the overall speeds and get you to your destination faster

think of all the airplanes in the air....they cant just bomb around like mosquitos in the tent running into everything in their path. The control of them makes the flow efficient.

on a side note, i think strangling some of the soccer moms throttles in school zones in my area is a good thing.
I think that the Federal Government should remove speed limits on Federal Highways. That way the dumbasses will weed themselves from the gene pool. Wait, then the governments would lose tax revenue, so that would never happen. Unless, those dumbasses are using most of the resources provided by governments.... who knows. NOT BEING POLITICAL!

??? great minds think alike .. exactly what I said to myself while reading that …

I agree wholeheartedly with Dave. Leave that to the police.
I'm guessing they're all going to be doing this, Ford just came out publicly first with it.

I never carry a wallet I usually leave it in my truck plus I usually use a money clip. So when I was going between 2 different vehicles I'd tend to forget my wallet in the truck but at least I have my ID on my phone. Sometimes it was just doing an estimate where I had no need for my wallet but use my phone for the gps.

A legitimate emergency to millennials or gen x would include speeding to get to a fast food drive thru prior to closing.

Ford would be better served using the $$ they are spending to return decontented items in the Ranger and other vehicles. They claim to be supported of the USA and spend money on that type of stupidity ?

When I lived in PA (thankfully done with that) I would have to drive the archaic overpriced over patrolled turnpike, occasionally noticed police sitting nearby the exits and found out why as they used the toll booth time stamp as proof that I was speeding (Iwas) and they wrote me a ticket, unbelievable.
Im a 53 year old Gen X’er and I can assure you that Im not speeding to the fast food drive through prior to it closing, I’m asleep in bed so I can wake up at 4AM and go to work.

Apple wallet is cool. I just downloaded a bunch of e gift cards we have to it. So now I can just use these at the restaurants when we're away and instead of having to find them in an email it's conveniently right there in the wallet.
