We're now getting close the the 4th of July long weekend. I promise this time to keep quiet when it gets closer. :lipssealed:?:bandit:
I’m ok with Ford taking their time it will give me time to stop down the street and tell the boys and girls at Cleveland engine to pour an extra bucket of horsepower in my 2.3 and with all our overtime I can put a huge chunk down on the Ranger.

Here's a fun fact that nobody's mentioned yet.
If our trucks arrive in late summer, which it looks like, they'll already be a year old. That's a 10-15K devaluation in worth.
Ford needs to address this, now.
I don’t understand this post. A new 2022 is a new 2022 whenever it shows up. It’s a brand new truck until you drive it off the lot. My dealer was asking $38k (sticker price of $40k 3 years ago) for the 2019 with 31,000 miles I traded for 2022. No way there is a 10-15k devaluation on a 2022 arriving a few months late. Ford doesn’t need to address anything nor will they when it comes to your concern.

Then you don't understand basic depreciation in the automotive application.
Sorry/not sorry.

I guess I don't understand either. With this theory the sticker should depreciate depending on month throughout the year. My thought is depreciation doesn't start until it is sold and driven. Otherwise if it's as you say everyone is screwed beyond January.

A couple of years ago I would have agreed with you. My buddy traded his 2020 ranger in for a 22 and they sold his on the lot for more than original sticker. When they can add market adjustment of $2000.00 over sticker on a new one I guess anything goes. SMH

Think of it this way. You're getting a '22 model when the '23's are already dropping orders. Your vehicle is a year old and you haven't even received it yet.
Check out standard vehicle depreciation charts and you'll see it

I got an email yesterday that my production week has been moved from 6/13 to 6/20.

Ordered 3/9/22
VIN issued 4/21 with 6/13 production
Production - week of 6/20???

I'd like to have it in time for my annual OBX trip in August. If not, no biggie, I'll just make the trip in my Pilot for the umpteenth time.

You're pretty much right.
The current scenario, where product is scarce, used vehicle values soaring, and dealers selling new product well above MSRP, is a historical anomaly that will end. The incentives to fix production snafus are simply too damned powerful for the current supply/demand circumstance to persist.

When vehicles become abundant and used car values return to earth, which they undoubtedly will, we'll probably see things going in the other direction, as folks who financed their vehicle purchases at the peak become materially upside-down on them begin turning in their keys and walking away, stiffing those holding the loan paper with repo'd wheels. And our world will suddenly be swimming in used cars and trucks.

Nailed it. Thank you. As I said earlier, Ford needs to address this.

Well, after ordering in March and being unscheduled-clean since then, I get this update from my dealer:

thumbnail_image0.jpg

Looks like no LED headlights and possibly something else. Lariat 501a.

Dealer has one on the lot with 1000 miles right now that is very tempting, but they are asking thousands above MSRP while my order was using X plan and a PCO. Makes the gap between the trucks over $6000, even factoring in the bedliner, tonneau cover and LED headlights I think it's too much of a gap. :(

That was me that you jinxed but appreciate you being quiet this time ?
Still in a holding pattern it seems. I'm going to contact them tomorrow and ask them to find where the last check point was for it. Starting to feel like it's one of those things when you buy off the internet and the seller prints a shipping label and consider the item shipped, not when it actually has left.
Annoyed at this point. When I try to pull it up in Ford Tracker. It takes me back to the the screen that I put in the order# and Vin. When using the ordertrack app website it shows in transit

My Ranger Tremor is in transit and, long story short, I found out this dealer (we'll call them Dealer F) no longer honors X Plan pricing. A dealer just over the state line (Dealer D) will honor X Plan but my order and deposit was through Dealer F. I asked the sales manager from Dealer D if it is possible to transfer a special order that is in transit and while she was very helpful, she didn't know of a way to do this and said that Dealer F in general is very uncooperative with dealer to dealer transfers.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

I am guessing my secondary status has changed to match yours. Another Lariat 501a
