I have seen a ton of threads on the 5100s being installed with and without leveling, however very little on off-road driving. For example are the impacts smoother, can you travel faster on fire roads or gravel? I had them on a 2wd f150 but it only seen dirt roads. My diesels had 5150s but they also weighed twice as much and had 4-10 inches of lift. Just looking at tackling some moderate trails on the way to taking the dirt bikes out with my kids.

Chances are you will be fine. In general the Bilstein shocks are stiff but are tuned fairly well for OffRoad. Just dont expect to be hitting jumps. Can you go a little faster without worrying about bumps throwing you around? Maybe but I cant say for sure. In general you should like them for what you plan to do

Thank you. Basically what I figured but the 6112 is looking really nice as well. Probably not worth double the cost honestly. Was out yesterday and noticed the front end was bottoming out. Or at least hitting the stopper on the strut. I wasn't driving crazy either, I'm a seasoned offroader with solid axles.

Going the 6112's in the front with the 5160's in the rear will probably give you a great ride overall. If trying to get extra height qithout breaking the bank you could also look at the Old Man EMU basic lift kit. I ran it on my Ranger for close to 2 years(then the truck met a sad ending.... Ground beef was involved....). I have plenty pf write ups on it to so you can take some time to look at it.

Just ordered the 5100s tonight for the rear. Drove my wife's explorer for the first time in a month and had a wtf moment. It felt like it had the shocks had been removed. So ordered some B4 replacements and rockauto had the 5100s in stock. Probably going to get them for the front too just to match and do the 1st notch up for a minor level.

i think the 5100s all around will be a good improvement and do what you want. they seem to have less bounce for me which i like since it makes the truck feel predictable instead of like its in a confused sea. the 5100s also seem to give a bit more flex than the stock shocks did on mine.

I hope to know more details soon.

I've had the 5100s in the rear for months and they were a big improvement.

I ordered the fronts 2 weeks ago and all tracking gives me is "Label Created" :crying:

If the front is as big an improvement as the rear was, it'll be a very good upgrade decision.

After this it'll be either Icon or ARB rear leaf springs and then my suspension will be done.

It's definitely smoother off road and bumps, ruts and rocks aren't nearly as jarring as the stock shocks. I'm not doing any serious off-roading but I do live on dirt roads.

I too have the 5100's front and back and really like them. The front's on the middle setting. I have done a few fire roads and visited a friend who has 10 acres in Prineville Oregon with a 10 mile dirt and gravel road to get to his place. Very solid shocks. I was towing my Off Road Tent Trailer both times. Loving my Ranger all the way.

That's odd, definitely shoot Frank @ Stage3 a message.
Frank checked into it and there was apparently some issue at the warehouse.

Now showing arriving this Wednesday.

I’m planning to buy the rears and DIY next month. Trying to talk myself out of the fronts since it’s more complicated. By complicated I mean beyond my abilities and expensive!
