Man, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I purposely waited to order mine until after the '23 reveal, to see if I wanted to hold out for it. Being honest, I think that thing is awful as it stands. It's a smashed nose F-150. Had I wanted something that looked like the 150, I would have just bought that. I digress; best of luck with your search, hope you find something that fits your needs!
It is hard to believe they would not let you change the color or remove the black package instead of cancelling the order altogether. Doesn’t seem like a great customer experience, and surprised your dealer didn’t ask those questions of Ford prior to final cancellation. From what I have read either of those things could be changed prior to a VIN being issued.
This is not what I was hoping to see. I have a feeling I'm going to be feeling your pain before long.
Maybe call the dealer and remove the black package, do it through added mods after purchase..
I posted earlier about the black appearance package and the black or chrome step bars are at a huge constraint not sure why the only thing is that I believe that ford's vendors for those specialty products is not meeting demand for some reason??? Possibly overseas parts? I took the black step bars off my order this past Tuesday for I still don't have a vin# or build date yet I was able to do that. It would be advised for anyone with those items on their orders to take them off !!! Basically any ascessories are at a certain constraint % right now. Hopefully ford is scheduling next week and I can finally get scheduled I have nothing else to take off !!! Bare bone XLT!! 300A ! Ordered 02/22/22
From my perspective, since Ford and the Dealer cannot offer any alternative, like you described by removing limiting features, then I hear them. They cannot and will not build it. Ok Good luck to Ford.
I'm I were you I would ask the dealer why they can't change the order their is no reason why they can't!! If you haven't been scheduled they can change it you just ordered it before the cutoff! Their is something fishy with that dealer I would call another dealership and ask them if what they told you is true!! Also you want to talk to the finance manager not a salesman they are the ones placing orders and get all the info from ford for their orders! I would definitely look into that before I give up!! But if you can find one out there that fits your needs go for it just watch out for their market inflation at the dealership you go to!!!
Right behind you at 48 days since built. Same estimate to ship next week. This is my 4 move out also. Maybe they will get them out next week ?? Hope is all we can have at this point.
