The writing was on the wall. I can't imagine being an employee in this economy and forgoing my salary. They will lose most people who are worth a dam also. Downward spiral commence!

Carvana is owned by a billionaire businessman (Ernest C. Garcia) so I'm sure there's plenty of capital there. They'll most likely downsize and cut more employees and salaries in this looming economy. I think we're in for much more of this as inflation keeps rising and the price of gas, especially diesel is going through the roof. It's only a matter of time that these already high prices are going to get much higher as the cost to deliver goods will go up again. :curse:

Get all your materialism and consumerism out of your system NOW... while you can afford it.

Carvana gave my wife a good buck for her 14 Escape, we found her car for sale took a couple of months to sell but they made a decent buck on hers. We found my 15 Taurus we sold them that they gave me stupid money for and found that one also. They only made $700 on that one but they make it on both ends as they finance all they’re own vehicles. Like they say, there is an ass for every seat. I just hate to be these poor people that overpaid for cars, houses and the rest of the stuff When the bottom falls out and it will eventually.

Even now is a little to late but still not bad considering what's coming. I don't see a way to stop it even with these rate hikes it'll take time to cool things off. Makes my decision to sell my Jeep even that much better now. I hope they sell it soon but I'm sure they'll just make up the difference on the finance side.

Yeah history is bound to repeat itself just like in 2008. Different circumstances (sub prime loans back then) but the housing market crashed hard then and that's how I got my house out here on a short sale. ? Maybe I'll be able to find a dealer looking to get rid of a Bronco for a normal price. lol

Normal price? In these crazy time’s. Who remembers when Chrysler launched the PT Cruiser? They were selling those shit boxes for over MSRP for a long time and people were waiting for them. I’ve been very fortunate the last 40 years. My oldest brother was at Cleveland engine assembly for 25 years before he passed away and I was able to get A-plan pins from him. My other older brother was the warranty administrator for the Ford dealer for over 38 years that I had bought all my vehicles from, I used his D-plan pin to buy the other vehicles that I had bought. Unfortunately my luck ran out, we bought my wife’s 21 Escape last November using his D-plan and by the time I decided to order the Ranger my brother retired. There went my D-plan pricing, I was lucky enough to get x-plan and found out that the dealer would honor it. I refuse to pay more than Sticker for a vehicle, call me cheap but it’s not going to happen.

Dave, you sold your jeep? I must have missed that. How come? I was thinking about doing what you did and buy a Rubicon ( and keep the ranger).

Lol I remember those PT Cruisers all to well!

I've never payed msrp either. I've always got a deal either though a dealer I've done business with buying my company trucks through or end of the year sales/rebates. I'm half joking when I said that about the Bronco. But if the economy does tank there's going to be a whole lot of dealers who have these on their lots that'll forced to reduce the price unless they want to keep paying interest on them sitting there. They'd be smart to sell them at msrp and try to make money on the financing or extended warranties like before.

Matt, I just sold it a couple weeks ago, you can read the saga here. lol I couldn't refuse the offer from Driveway and in the end I just didn't love the Jeep enough to pass up the money.

I read an article (maybe linked to on here) that Carvana is owned by a father/son billionaire team. Both billionaires. The son is mostly responsible for Carvana an an those are like the only 2 billionaires to lose net worth during this pandemic times when most have their wealth skyrocketing.

Lol I remember those PT Cruisers all to well!
I had a neighbor that sold his 1982 Vette to buy a PT Cruiser. What a down grade. He worked at the for plant here that has since shut down (Lorain assembly) an had a 1994 Cobra convertible pace car that had 800 miles on it last time I saw the car. I don't know why he wanted that PT cruiser so bad. His daily driver was a windstar van. What a POS. Nothing worked right.
