Factory auto start-stop delete?

Still waiting for my Ranger. It's 'In Production' status as of 4/5/2022. But as I was looking over my window sticker, I noticed there is a line item on there for 'AUTO STOP-START REMOVAL' and there's a '-$50.00' fee for it. Have others seen this? I didn't know this was an option. I assume it's because I ordered the towing package?

I had been researching the best way to disable the auto-stop start on it when it arrives. Guess I won't have to get an add-on now. Thanks Ford.

That's probably the best deleted item on the list. Here's a Sticky with all the deleted items from Ford since 2019. Although you might not want to read it as it's depressing what they took away.

It’s related to chip shortages. Other missing features (as an example: heated seats) also net $50 off the price, even if it’s a $500 feature.

It could and will get worse before it gets better. All joking aside I think we're going to see many more things deleted for the next few years just so they can get vehicles produced. Of course they say you can get them added in later from the dealer but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes The option to delete this feature was not an option for me in late January. But others shortly after were reporting that FORD was giving customers the option. Now it seems FORD has made the decision to eliminate this feature (i'm sure it's because of the chip shortage). I for one did not want this option or the tech associated with it. Again, my personal choice. Saves me the aggravation of getting the ASS Eliminator or programing this out.

The heated seats in cold climates are priceless. Even here in the Carolinas, we have many 30 degree mornings....

I use them at least 8-9 months here. It's cold here in the desert during the winter (yeah I'm a wimp now) and they're great for your sore back, it's a built in heating pad. ?

A few months back, I was looking at a 2021 Chrysler 300 with heated and ventilated front and rear seats (and many other items) my 2020 doesn't have. Wanted too much cash to go with the trade - keeping my 2020 - it has heated front seats. Heated seats were a dealer installed option on my previous 2015 Triumph Trophy SE....
