uhh...google is my source? i search, i read, i cut and paste...try it, i'm sure you'll come across all the same stories i can read up on why WD-40 sucks for locks. like you actually care about the source tbh.
Its not good for locks. nor is it good to jack off with, cook food with or lubricate things that will get destroyed by the dust it attracts. There's better products for all that.

Choose something better for locks, its that simple. Why grab the lowest hanging fruit and say that's good enough?
Really should have kept your sex habits out of the conversation - you were going nowhere fast already.

Lockers should only be engaged when in 4x4 Low and then only when driving in a straight line.
I really hate to sound like a know it all. But our axles are stronger than most of you think. People use trucks as trucks daily, and don't break stuff.

I've broken a 7.5" ring gear in a 79 mustang after replacing the 4 cylinder with a 5.0, and broke the oem 8.8" track lock in one of my 96 broncos after putting it on 37" boggers. Replaced that with a detroit locker and added a girdle, and never broke anything else. I've never broken an axle, and I've beat on my junk.

I parked my 2013 F150 downhill in a new parking lot with loose gravel and one tire spun when I tried to back out. I pulled the locker and eased back. Nothing broke, no big deal.

I had a 2015 f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost. Had a 93 octane 5 star tune on it. I would put it in 4 hi, and lock the rear end, brake torque it and launch, spinning 3 tires and never broke anything, except some chevy guys hearts.

I know it's hard on tires, and parts, but they are not made out of peanut butter.

I'm curious what rear ends were in Phil's racing rangers, and what kind of differential.

the owners manual (read it) also states it disengages when anti lock brakes activate.
sounds like hooliganism at its finest is being reeled in with some software meant to protect the system from damages.
Well, it's probably all right (since it's hooliganism) there'd only be one rear wheel down on any corner, besides, what's a little rear end damage when you're 'killing all tires'? ??

I hear you and not disputing your reply. I'm thinking more of an offroad situation or where you need equal traction to both wheels. With a locker engaged, on a surface where equal traction is not an issue, you are going to set yourself up for unnecessary mechanical problems down the road. Just my humble opinion.

Not to toot my own horn, but I GRENADED my 2012 F150 rear smoking the rears with the locker set to kill mode. Use in a straight line with caution is my advice.
And the exact reason you only use it for OffRoad whether it be in 4 high or 4 low. On pavement.... Not so much

I've done a few 4x4 an rear locked launches on back roads to get a 0-60 run in an so far nothing broken. I need to find an app to get a 0-60 time the one I tried didn't stop timing at 60.

Please explain why you should use a locker in 4 Low. As for a strait line it really depends on the conditions you are in. Maybe the conditions OffRoad require the Locker on while in a turn.

A couple times (totally randomly) the electronic locking differential turns off on when taking a corners and the truck jolts through the turn. I haven't deactivated the system at the switch and I have to pull over, turn the truck off and wait a bit for it to stop happening. What am I doing wrong?
Diff lock will stress the diff when cornering on hi traction surface, outside tire travels farther than inside tire. Maybe truck smart enough to turn it off in cornering on dry pavement?
