57 in May and soon to have brand new hip.

First ford’s-
1973 turd brown Pinto, loved that car.
1977 baby blue two tone Mercury Cougar XR7, I was pimping!
When I turned 23 I ordered my first brand new Ford. A 1988 Cabernet Red Mustang GT that I still own and has spent its entire life in the same garage. Then I went on to F150’s before purchasing my Ranger.
My Mustang- I’m starting to return it back to stock little by little and re-installing all the oem parts I’ve saved.

55 for a couple more weeks, first Ford I owned was a 79 F100, straight six auto. Former daily rental and I made that thing miss being rented out. It went places I shouldn't have walked into LMAO. Learned to drive on a farm truck when I was 12. I'll tell you, 3 on the tree was a great way to learn. Then had a 78 Grenada with a 302. I hit a house with it one night and backed away and took off, bricks on the hood and everything. Ford tough ain't no bullshit.

Drove GM for 35 years while I worked there, now I am free to choose which products to drive.

Thank you Bob.. its all original single stage paint expect for the Cervini wing, cowl hood and lovers.. All Oem’s safely boxed and stored. The car the way it sits is how it looked by 1990 lol, I didnt waste time modding it. Never been to a car wash and always detailed it myself.. Zymol HD Cleanse and Zymol Concours.

That is a gorgeous Mustang! Love seeing a babied one-owner survivor. Most Fox bodies are chopped up messes. That car is wonderful.

Very interesting that most of us are so brand loyal. I don't think Ford appreciates that about it's customers. They would do things differently if they did.

Lovely GT! Brings back the memories. We briefly owned a '87 LX 'program car' (ex rental car) for about 18 months. Nice car, no issues. 2.3L car, completely loaded - red with red interior. Too many car payments! Stock image.

The Fox bodies are still one of the best looking cars. I would like to find a decent one to restore with my son.

I'm 45.

1st Ford = 1993 Tempo GL. It was one of those "program cars" they use to sell. Bought it in 1994 with like 15,000 miles on it for $8,995 at a big Ford dealer "mall sale". Drove it my senior year of high school and all of college. It was a good, reliable car. The 4 cyl was gutless with 4 big college guys in it though.

Learned to drive in a 1978 F-150 4x4 around the ranch. 400 V8 with a 4 speed standard tranny. First gear was a granny gear so usually you started out in 2nd. No A/C and an AM radio. It wasn't that fast, but pulled pretty good.

I've had several vehicles since that Tempo and all were Fords or Mercurys.

Current Ranger is a 2019 XLT FX4. I have a 2022 XLT Tremor on order and built if they ever ship it to me.

I was hoping to buy a nice Fox body for my daughter as her first car - she ended up with an Isuzu Imark coupe - very similar to the one depicted. She drives a Mazda 6 now....

I am 51 years old, I learned to drive on 87 Buick Regal, and an 86 Chevy Caprice Classic (loved those old boats). My first ford was an 83 Escort (learned to drive stick shift on that car). My first Ranger was an 87 that was totaled by some lady who thought she didn't have to stop at a red light, followed by an 86, and now my 21.

I’m 67 and learned to drive on a 65 VW beetle 4 speed standard. First ford was a used 1962 Mercury Comet. 170 Inline 6
2 Speed Automatic. A real babe magnet ?? Then met my wife, she was driving a 85 Ranger XLT two tone blue. Her dad or my future FIL worked at Ford. Everything we bought after that was Ford or Mercury. So, 2 Mercury Villagers loaded, then onto a Mountaineer. I was in Rangers from 97 on myself.

We're close to the same age OP. During the 60's I think the Ford's edged out the other brands so when it came around to owning my first 'real' car, it wasn't 'till the mid 70's.
I grew up in the rust belt. But when I saw how clean the older cars were in the south while stationed at my first AF base, I had to have one.
One day I was tire kicking at the one and only Chevy dealer in town, and saw this clean, and I do mean CLEAN, '68 Galaxie 500 fastback calling out my name on the UC lot.
Over a quick negotiation by needing tires we set up a payment plan with insurance for $67.00 a month!
Really enjoyed that car. But yeah, I was young and stupid also. That's another story for another time ;)
