Or the Ford Pass app. You can unlock with your phone, unless you locked the phone inside
I think he said he did. Maybe if he has a spouse or partner with the same app, he could've gone to a pay phone or other land line phone, called the person and had them remotely unlock the truck:idea:

Is it possible the doors were locked already when they blew shut?
Maybe an accidental push of the keyfob or hit the lock button on the way out of the truck.
All doors were unlocked, I had to unload the stuff for my kayak, seat, paddle....all my stuff was in the truck. So I was accessing all sides. Nothing touched the keyfob.

This happened again shortly thereafter, after I replead the glass BUT the keys and my phone where in the bed of the truck that time. I will NEVER get out of that truck again without my keys or phone lol

Pay phone LoL I was 150 miles out in the Everglades at 2am in the morning. There was NO possible alternative else I would've done it.

Yeah I was never a fan of push to start but since I've had it I've been able to not ever worry about this, which I used to be very OCD about. With push to start I keep my keys on my belt and they stay there. If I get out of the truck they always come with me.
I agree, i got push start on my newer ranger but the keys never leave my pocket haha

It would've been easier to use one of these then trying to find a pay phone. lol

I wanna say the impact of the door blowing shut "jostled" the lock button enough to lock the door. But then you said it happened again...

I'm visiting Florida, could have tried smoke signals once it was day light. Also, remote locations are why I don't really trust that the phone option will always work, you'll need signal from your phone carrier and the truck will need to see the signal from AT&T for it to work. Too far in the wild and the phone option is lost, enter keypad option.

Below are the instructions for programming the locks. Reason #397 to have a keypad. They can be purchased and programmed for $150-$200. I recommend talking to your dealer first. The initial syncing to your truck must be done thru a dealer, after that you can put in your own code. Some won't program a unit not bought thru their parts department, some can't or won't at all. Shop around. ~1/3 the cost and exponentially less aggravation than a busted window. Also, allows you to lock the truck while it's running; while doing a quick in-out at the C-store for a beverage, for instance.
Is this setting for the self locking when the truck is initially driven off? If so, I like this feature and want it to remain. Long time ago at a red light after work my driver's door was suddenly swung open and someone jumped in! That's why I like that lock feature to stay put.

Wasn't a blow but a sorta "push" and the door clicked shut. And, yes, it did happened again. Someone said that if the key was in the vehicle, the doors would lock automatically but I doubted that and proved it wrong when it locked itself with the keys in the bed of the truck. Weird.

My phone was inside the truck, so no way to use the APP.
You could have had someone download the FordPass app and sign in as you. Then they could have unlocked your truck

Damn that sucks. I never ever leave my keys in the truck if i'm out and about for this reason alone. However, I park my truck in my garage every day and leave my keys inside the ignition and my truck has never locked itself in the year that i've owned it. I would have called Triple A or someone though, no way i'd smash my window lol
