Hello,

Is there a way to turn off the wipers? Due to the vehicle's poor design, I wind up hitting the stalk when turning the wheel, activating the wipers. The wipers then stay on, no matter what I do until I turn off the vehicle. When I get back in and go again, the wipers resume right where they left off. Regardless of weather, I'm driving down the road with the wipers on like a goof. According to the manual that shipped with the vehicle, it's easy to disable automatic wipers from the vehicle settings. That's not the case. All I have under wipers is "Courtesy Wipe", (whatever that is), but no off. Do I have to pull a fuse or something?

Thanks in advance

Can you post a video of how you turn the wheel in a way that hits the wiper controls?

Maybe order one and use a heat gun, a vice, and patience to bend it back some to clear your hand?

The courtesy wipe is one more pass after you turn them off to make sure the windshield is clear. I have it turned on/like it.

I could try, but its basically my knuckles hitting the stalk because its 1 inch behind the wheel.

All the way down on the arm turns them off completely. The first click up is the automatic for vehicles equiped with it. Then it's low, then high. The small toggle on the arm controls the speed of the intermittent.

You must have freakishly large hands to be hitting the stalk when turning the wheel. There is plenty of room between the wheel and the stalk for anyone with normal to large hands.

That being said it is one thing to hit the stalk and turn the wipers on and another to not be able to turn them off. If after hitting the stalk and turning the wipers on you can't immediately switch it off you have something in the switch that is broken.

Jason,

There’s an easy solution. I know it’s been tough getting out for haircuts and such these past couple of years, but don’t let that get in the way of enjoying your Ranger. ?

No option to switch-off autowipers. Why do they have to be automatic anyway? I can guarantee that if I'm driving the vehicle and it starts to rain, I will turn on the wipers. No need for the vehicle to do it.

Only make right turns.

If you push the stalk down all the way auto is off, up one click is auto, up another is on.

So apparently you're hitting it on left turns, turning it on. Stop turning left?

Despite all of the efforts in my state to prevent left turns, sometimes they are necessary.
