I wish there was a "no really I bought that" button. Hell a targeted add got me to buy a used car once. I don't hate them all but I only recently stopped getting ads for small trucks. Especially the Frontier....

Google is one of the most invasive platforms out there for collecting and using your information. I do not have an account with them, and use 'Little Snitch' to block and filter any in/out going connections to any of the domains used by them (along with others). I also use Duck, Duck, Go as my main browser (along with Tor) and a VPN to mask my IP address & location, although my IP changes daily. I realize many sites have my info, banks, finance, VA, but it must be working as I get next to no spam mail or calls.

Do you really think Apple is any better? It is the price we pay for all these connected conviences we can’t live without. I hope all those hoops you are going through make you feel better, because that is all they are doing.

Apple is better, at least in the security department, and Google has it's fingers in so many platforms. And I also use a VPN on my phone. Not many hoops as you think as it is set it up once and done. Can I stop all of it, no, but the fact that I get near zero spam calls and emails works for me, and I don't allow tracking cookies or bots on my LAN.

Your truck has a gps and talks to Ford regularly. Just go into Fordpass it shows you exactly where your truck is, how many miles, how much gas and what your oil life percentage is.

Doesn't mean Apples not collecting. They know every thing about you just like Google. Maybe more, they got you locked into only their software and everything is interconnected. It's all in the cloud.

Nope, I have iCloud turned off and don't use it. I don't trust Cloud storage, gets hacked to many times. So.... you must work for Google huh?

Nope retired mechanical designer. Just not foolish enough to trust any one of them over the other. You do anything online don't care if its through a VPN or not its recorded and they can track you.

id wager that the clandestine groups around the world love all the internet based stuff and social media , cloud , amazon etc. Talk about an overwhelming amount of data and info without having to leave the desk chair...
kinda kills the cloak and dagger fun though.
