FWIW, I have never turned mine off. So far, it doesn't bother me.

This is my 3rd vehicle in a row with Auto Start / Stop. I had two consecutive Volvos (a V60 and an XC60) that both had this feature prior to buying my Tremor.

What I can tell you is that the Ranger is the best version of the 3 that I experienced. The V60 so rarely shut off that it startled me when it did. Living in Texas, you run A/C or heat almost year round with no in-between, so every now and then you'd get one day where it wasn't either too hot or too cold where the car didn't need to run the heater or the A/C non-stop, and the V60 ASS would kick in. The XC60 did it more often, but still pretty rarely, more like once a week.

Both of these vehicles did not seem "ready to drive" very fast after ASS, but the Ranger is ready to go by the time I have lifted my foot off of the brake and onto the gas pedal. And the Ranger has better low end torque, so it takes off like a champ. I always felt like the Volvos needed time for the turbos to spool up to really accelerate and it felt like ASS slowed that process when taking off from a stop.
It does work very well , almost golf cart like , and I got to controlling it pretty well with the brake , but I drive in tow mode so its off anyway , but that one day (made a thread , best not to go there) it was auto stopping in tow mode , just that one day.

2-300? Wow. I've seen 2-150. Which totals 300.

Also, you should see the gas tankers up north. Much bigger and holds more fuel. Weight limits are different so these massive tankers can deliver fuel. It has an extra axle in the back and the capacity is close to 14,000 gallons. The one I'm using has a 9,200 gallon capacity. But we don't fill it all the way. 7,900 gal diesel. 8,800 gal gasoline.

Note the extra axle below. That tanker holds more fuel.

The type I use is below that.

I probably could've been clearer; I meant two to three hundred gallons total, twin hundreds, 120s, 150s etc.
re your top photo: no placards! $300 minimum fine.

I'm somewhere between I like the feature and it does not bother me enough to turn off. It will stay on. Gas prices are still ridiculously cheap in the US compared to the rest of the world, so that has nothing to do with it.

I am sort of lucky with the prices here not being too crazy, but I thought about turning it back on the other day. I'd assume those seeing close to 6 dollars already have or will turn it back on to get some extra mpgs out of the ranger.... well that or drive smaller cars. My other ride is a minivan that gets worse MPG and a one-ton chevy that burns fuel without running it gets so bad gas mileage (joke it isn't leaking etc)

Mine is still off but I am getting close to being annoyed by it, almost.
My auto start stop is permanently shut off by forscan and I will not be turning it back on. It would only benefit slightly if you lived in LA maybe and we’re stuck in traffic jams all day long. I do have a tremor that gets even worse than the regular Ranger and have thought about buying some kind of a small car to drive in the summer

In case no one is aware, the wire for the ASS leads to the battery. All you have to do is disconnect that.

Its been said on here that wire has more info than just the ASS , but others have reported no issues... This would be my LEAST favorite method and still wouldn't do it...

Oh......when I saw 2-300, I was thinking the tanks on each side. Two 300 gallon tanks. I know there's two 150 gallon tanks.

As for placards, new tanker. That shine doesn't last long once it collects road grime. It'll eventually have placards. But it's not needed for bio-diesel.

Never bothered me much. The stops and starts are WAY smoother than on my wife's Subaru. I figure it saves me +/- half a gallon per tank full which is worth it over the long run, I think.

Auto start/stop starters on not conventional starters. They are built tougher to withstand any additional wear. Internal combustion engines are least efficient at idle. Fuel injection helps, but it can only do so much. If you're driving in the country, it's not that big a deal and probably won't save you much. If you like in Chicago, and fight stop and go traffic to work, it can save more.

The truck's systems are very intelligent. The proof of that is you never see the truck posting here.

It doesn't bother me and I usually just leave it on. My short commute to work doesn't have many stops so very little benefit pro or con. If I lived on the other side of a city and had to go through a couple dozen lights everyday there would probably be a bigger benefit to it.

I don't despise it. For me there are times when i like to have it on but, like others have said, if i know it's going to be a quick stop I either try to keep the truck rolling or i'll disable the ASS just to keep it from shutting off for 1 sec.

In my opinion, the worst part about it is when you stop to park it will shut off the engine before you get a chance to put the transmission in Park. Then when you shift the transmission into park it will fire up the engine again. I know some just turn of the engine while still in D and then shift to park to avoid this.

Why do I feel like people are coming unglued ( & I’m not talking about the auto start/stop)??‍♀ It’s just a shame. Don’t take things so personally folks.
