At 7 weeks I would think you should at least have a VIN. Have you at least gotten that? If not, I'd say the dealer placed the order WAY later than you think.
I am at 6 months and don’t have a VIN…

Something sounds awfully fishy with that. Did you get paperwork confirming the order from Ford? Are you 100% positive the dealer actually placed the order?

If it were a Bronco it would be a different thing but for Rangers, I can't imagine waiting 6 months (or more) for a VIN. After you get a VIN you still have 2-3 months most likely.

Ordered mine last week. Dealer said the last recent one took about 90 days. I ordered a supercrew.

I am have asked my sales rep and as of last week the only thing he could tell me was it was scheduled to be built. No VIN, Production date or blend date. I have emailed ford Canada to see if maybe they could help. It has been incredibly irritating.

Unless something different happens in Canada, that sounds completely wrong. You get a VIN, and THEN it gets scheduled to be built. Until it gets a VIN, it doesn't get scheduled, and when it gets scheduled, you'll get a "build week' and closer to the actual build date, you'll get a build date.

Here is what happened for me, which was relatively typical pre-covid (although times did get shorter after I got mine - this was VERY early in production):

Ordered at Dealer 12/22/2018
Accepted at Ford 12/26/2018
ROVP Approved 12/28/2018
VIN Assigned 1/18/2019
Build Week Assigned 1/25/2019
Window Sticker Available 3/8/2019
Blend Date 3/16/2019
Production Complete 3/19/2019
Shipped by truck from plant to Rail Yard in Woodhaven, MI 3/23/2019
Shipped via train from Woodhaven, MI 3/29/2019
Arrived in Portland Railyard 4/9/2019
Delivered via truck to Dealer 4/12/2019
Picked up at Dealer 4/14/2019

The VIN got assigned a little less than a month after I ordered and a week after I got the VIN it got a build week, which changed once if I remember correctly.

Something definitely smells fishy with what your dealer is telling you. Hopefully Ford Canada can get you some real, correct answers.

Canadian orders are processed the same as US.

I just ordered this week and the dealer told me it would probably be 4 -6 months.

Based on this thread I'm sure it will take every bit of that ?

Yeah, I have read a number of other peoples processes as well, pre-COVID and during COVID the way the information is received is the same or close. I have ordered a S-Cab but it shouldn’t change the sequence the customer gets the info. I know there were recalls and issues. I have read on the forum that the S-Cabs are picking up in the assembly line a little, I just don’t get why it would be so different from everyone else. I also hope I can get some correct answers from ford.

**In anyones experience what has been the best next step?**
