Won't that have to be replaced like the last release will have to be replaced? Won't that cause a drain on supplies an drive prices up? Also with tensions high with Russia shouldn't we be hanging on to our "strategic reserves" for possible military action an a further escalation of conflict?

DEF for diesels is made from urea. Other than urine, the primary source for urea is coal. They keep closing coal mines so there is a shortage of urea for DEF to make diesel safer for the environment. One of the ways to clean up the environment is to stop burning coal. No one buys coal, so they close the coal mines, creating a shortage of urea...and on and on it goes
