Hi all. So the dealer I was thinking about buying a 2022 Cactus Grey STX for 36k OTD a few weeks ago is doing 0% APR for 60 months with 1k bonus cash. If I could get that additional 1k bonus cash and 0% APR instead of my original offer and do 35k OTD 0% APR 60 mo, would that be a better deal since no interest?

Also, I’m coming from my very first car when I was 16, a 2003 Cavalier with 198k miles so I’m not sure what to expect in terms of a good price vs. being ripped off nowadays, I have never shopped for a car before. Should I hop on that if they approve it, or if they stick to the original offer of 36k OTD (2.25% APR)? Thoughts on what you would ideally pay for this? Obviously no interest is best but just looking at my options.I’m not in a need now pay now situation but seriously considering it if the opportunity presents itself.

Attached is the sticker.

Attached is the window sticker.

MSRP: 33600

OTD: 35000

Down Payment: 3600

Total Finance: 31400

Options: STX Appearance, Special edition, tow package, Running boards, and reverse sensing.

P.S. not concerned about qualifying for 0% as my credit score and debt-income ration is good.

I appreciate all your info.

Looks like the price is up 1-2K from 6-8 months ago as expected, but really nice truck when I was looking at them around the time when the Carvana craze was at it's peak. I have an XLT with a few more bells and whistle's, but would be very happy with that STX Special Edition Package also...Nice truck!

So ideally I would be looking at 1-2k off sticker? I’m kinda just fed up with the whole thing and just about to say fuck it. I’m tired of my Cavalier and if I can get it with 0% APR it’s technically like I’m saving $1900 due to no interest.

In my opinion, MSRP is the fair price. I walk away from anything over that. I got mine after Thanksgiving for $1k under MSRP due to incentives at the time.

You said you got the Cavalier when you were 16, for all we know that was last month. Not sure it matters on new car purchase though when you got your first car. Credit score is likely going to have a bigger impact on qualifying for that 0% interest deal than what your debt-to-income ratio is.

That was 14 years ago. Haha. It’s time for a change. I’m at 800+ so it’s not like I’m desperate. Just actively looking and trying not to “settle” but I suppose 35k all said is good considering.

I ordered this for 34,985 on Monday. Truck month with the same incentives as you got. With tow package.
Added the 110v outlet 110
And rear sensors 110
just to be sure it was included on my truck
Minus fx2 and tow, that is 1000 dollars less. And you have blis, lanekeeping

so you’re saying you got a XLT for 1k less than what mine is at, so I could do better? Or that mine seems to be the best I could do?

Well, if you take off my fx2(rear locker, and cheap skid plates) and take off the tow package thats just over 1,000 dollars. You could always add a receiver hitch for 150 and buy the trailer wiring with ford points. My current ranger i bought a while back before covid so its hard to compare prices. The pic in my post is 34,985. Take away fx2, and the price is 34,385. The fx2 is 600 and tow package is 500. So take away tow package and the price is 33, 785.
If you want to save time just include the tow package, depends how do it yourself you are willing or able to do.
But, imho, i believe you can get better. Of course the dealer will want to sell what they have on the lot. You oay the monthly bill so its no skin of there back.
That being said, I believe you could get more for your money with an xlt. The pickup you have chosen seems to be an xl with all the other packages added, minus the small details of an xlt. I use the ranger like a truck, so it has its bumps, but when its shiny and clean those, those extra features make for a nice ride. My current package is the 300, and 300 in my new ordered truck. It is true, they have slowly been taken features away from the packages. My exact package on my current ordered truck is a 300. To compare to my 2020 i have to order the current 301. So it can be very confusing. I did a lot of building on the build app. Or page or whatever it is called. Which is why i added the rear sensors and 120v plug. To make sure i still have it on the new build. Still confused if the 2022 has it standard. And very hard to tell when you cant see the truck. Which is why so many people buy parts to add to the ranger to "mod" it. Sorry so long winded.
I am 48, and this ranger is my very first brand new car. I have always bought used. Good luck with your decision. All rangers can tow the same when properly equipped, and all have a very good payload depending on features, 4x4, 4x2 and so on. I have a ranger now, ordered one to see if they can make my payment go down. Of course if i ask for world peace they say they can deliver too, so......
Good luck, i am very sure you will enjoy the Ranger. Whichever model you decide to purchase
