I just discovered my spare is a 17” Hankook and my OEM tires are the 18” Hankooks.

Called the selling dealer and after getting passed around the guy said they can come with different sized spares but didn’t inspire confidence in his answer. I know spares are often a different size, especially the temporary donut styles but this is a full sized spare.

I am asking the geniuses on this forum if the spare should have been an 18”. If so then I’ll push the dealer but if not I’ll just live with it.

You got a spare? I heard they were cancelling those for 2022. ?

You’re fine - your ODs match your spare within tolerance. It was all done on purpose by Ford. No need to lean on your dealer for this.

From all the old posts I went thru it seems that Rangers with OE 18 inch wheels/tires will have 17 inch spares, and those with OE 17 inchers will have 16 inch spares.
Holds true for my 2021 with 17 inchers....has a 16 inch spare.

All you need to do is put a shorter tire on that spare, put it on the right or left rear (can't remember which side) and your bed will become level. But like Duke said how things are going we will eventually get a pump and some expanding foam instead of a spare tire.

Had that exact setup on my Smart - can of Slime and a tiny 12V compressor. ?

My Porsche and AMG both had the baby air compressor and a can of fix-o-flat.

I could swear mine was a full size spare, same size as the other four tires. But it's been four months since the only time I looked at it and now I'm going to have to lay on the wet salt covered garage floor and look.

And flip it over so you can access the valve stem and check the pressure.
