HAHA! That's what I told my wife, but she wanted one, she is practical and frugal (a keeper!) Right about now that 55 MPG she gets sure looks good!

Ex-Jeep owner here. Had a JKU for 9 years. I was pumped for the Gladiator and then I saw it in person and was disappointed. Don't like the look of them, personally.

If I ever go back to a Jeep, definitely going with a TJ as a weekend warrior vehicle?

I came here from a Gladiator.

Poor on-road manners & loud. It's long wheel base isn't great for offroading. Same goes for the departure angle, which can be helped with a aftermarket bumper and sawzaw.

The VM Diesel is an Italian turd and too heavy for the Gladiator.

If you are set on a diesel midsize truck, the ZR2 Duramax is the way to go.

The stock suspension bottoms out on road, it lowers your payload and towing, plus will derate itself when towing in the summer. The diesel is also $6000 over a manual V6.

Wrong. Tacos are great so long as they're going in my mouth. Campechanos, lengua , asado, carnitas... just line those bad boys up & we're gold.

Wait, why are we here again? Oh, trucks... right.

Always makes me wonder what I could get for my truck in the private sale with all the custom fabrication and still under 10,000 miles for a 2019. We all know generally aftermarket is null and void but then you look at custom one-off fabrication type stuff and it can draw in a hefty price tag depending what it is.

I agree on definitely not getting the diesel, get the tried and true 3.6 V6

i was looking forward to the gladiator being more jeep truck than wrangler with a bed. maybe if they offered it like a scrambler with 2 door and a bed built on the 2 door wrangler id be really tempted.
like this? Iā€™m with youā€¦

Here is my take on this. If they are offering crazy high on your Ranger and you want the Jeep, take it! Iā€™m not sure how much longer we will see the crazy high prices on used cars. Just last week I was able to buy a new Ranger FX4 or a dealers lot in the Phoenix area for the X-Plan price. That in itself is probably saying something. Second, I tried to trade in a 2011 Tacoma TRD-Offroad 4x4, which is typically a pretty hot used vehicle. I would rate my Tacoma in the 95% of trucks that old. It was in really good condition and had 103k miles. They low balled me and stood firm on their offer. They were willing to take it, but wanted it for a pre-chip shortage price. That is probably saying something too. Last, if you watch the Auto Advocate channel on YouTube, Ray Sr was just talking about a lot of car dealers getting really concerned about overpaying for used cars. There is real concern that they may end up taking a loss just to sell the vehicle.

if the deal is good its hard to say no. but, for the money involved is the gladiator worth it? for the cost of the gladiator you buy another model used jeep and build up on awesome play toy. i do wish rangers had the parts and support of jeeps or even mustangs. you can just about build a jeep or mustang from a catalog or web page and never actually have to go to a jeep or ford dealer lol.
