I live in the Colorado Rockies, which is Toyota Tacoma land. When you tell someone you bought a truck, they go right to asking what trim level Tacoma you got. Seriously, it's that bad.

So, I've had my '19 Ranger Lariat in Oxford White for a whopping two-ish weeks now. I've been stopped three times now to get a compliment on 'wow, that's a really nice truck!'.

Just today at the post office, a lady in a really nice F-150 walks up to the passenger window and asks me how I like the Ranger. . . How does it ride? . . . This is the one with all the bells and whistles, right? Mind telling me what you paid? She says she wants to buy one for her husband. (lucky guy!) She says the F-150 is nice, and rides well, but is just . . . too much. Can't park it anywhere. I told her I love my Ranger so far, and while the ride is good, it's certainly more truck like than my old Subaru.

It's nice people notice! :)

Next time someone asked you "what trim level Tacoma you got" tell them you don't have a Taco and that you bought a real truck. ?

Then put one of these in your rear window because that's all they're going to see.?

I should tell them I wanted to tow more, have more room, get better mileage, and pay less, so I didn't get a Tacoma. ?

in the beginning, i had numerous cat calls, thumbs ups, and curious onlookers.

then it died off.
Same here.

Some flashed their lights, (daytime hours) Honked the horn, and waved to me.

Maybe I should have this guy drive my Ranger to get it all back. ?

Hey, mine is a 2019, and we are still getting compliments and/or questions from complete strangers! BTW, I have to say that I agree completely with the lady in the 150!

The lady is right. I only had my 2019 F-150 for about a year and a half when I traded for my 2021 Ranger. The F-150 was too much of everything for me, didn't need all the size and bulk. My previous F-150 prior to that was the old body style, circa 2003. That was much more sleek and maneuverable than the current body style, and I find the Ranger to be just the same. Glad I switched.

Just a few days ago sitting in Zaxby's, a guy comes in and I guess I must look like a Ranger driver, because he looks at me and says, "Is that your Ranger?"

I reply in the affirmative and he just says "That's a nice looking truck!". I thank him and he goes on about his business.

I had a guy driving an older Tacoma compliment my Ranger yesterday . He said he really had no idea the Rangers looked that good . He was talking about trading when prices started to come down a little . He wanted to checkout everything about my truck , inside and out . He even asked if the tailgate damper was stock , LOL .

Hey, Bob, I agree completely. There are some older model 150s in my development, and I used to take them for Rangers as they are about the same size as our current rides! Happy New Year!

Hey Marc Happy New Year!!

One of my customers back east has the first year Tundra, it's so small my 2016 Tacoma was bigger than it. It's amazing how big they've got and I'm afraid the Ranger will soon be the size of the current F150 before to long.

Hey, Dave, Happy New Year, man! For my part, I would not mind the future generations of Rangers getting a little bigger and stronger, as long as they stay well South of the 150!

The 1st year Tundra was a mini F-150 during that period . When the 1st ones started showing up in my shop I was like , WTF ? The front end and everything about the dash layout was very similar to the '97 era F-150 , just scaled down . Toyota admitted later that they had placed a F-150 in their design studio since they were targeting the best selling truck in America .

I've had my Ranger since March 2019 and I continue to get compliments on the truck. Many are impressed with the color, the Hot Pepper Red. Still wonder why Ford discontinued the color?

Through the better part of 2020, I saw very few Rangers on the road. But now I see them quite often here in east central Missouri.

I really enjoy driving the truck and so far through 35,000 miles have had no problems with it (knock on wood).
