Has someone asked what the weight difference is?
Biggest issue is most aftermarket UCA will not fit. I have a 2021 Lariat with cast iron and cannot get a BDS lift kit for it. Talked to them in early June they said 6 to 8 weeks maybe so it is a waiting game right now.

I just out the OME kit on mine with cast spindles, based on the alignment cams, upper control arms aren't needed till 3.5" of lift and honestly anything above that is pointless on these trucks. And the amount of extra "flex" gained by uppers usually is only in the half inch to inch range of travel.

I want the 3.5 BDS kit with Fox 2.5 shocks and Deaver leaf in the rear. Want to keep some rake so when loaded it is not leaning backwards. Need to wait for the UCA but I am afraid all resources are going to the Bronco upgrades. Ranger is old now with the Bronco out there.

Forgot to mention I have the tires already KO2 285/65/18 on Method 316 +18 offset. I need the 3.5 plus modified crash bars to fit them.

My theory is the iron knuckles may be from the Ranger T6 (overseas) version?

2020 fx4 supercab here.... aluminum. Wish I got the iron!

Would be great if someone knew exactly why the switch.
Two words...cost reduction...you got cheaped out for the same reason you didn't get a glovebox damper, PRNDL light, and many more stuff...

I'm betting the forged aluminum uprights are just more expensive to manufacture than the heavier cast iron units...

2019 Ranger, I bought the 2nd one from the local dealer March 2019, mine is aluminon and I believe that part was made here in Effingham by Wapacu Foundries or so I was told by the shipping clerk. I have since retired but will see if I can find out what happened. Guess it comes down to this, do you want beer cans or car parts?

Put it this way...I'd rather have forged aluminum wheels than iron drums... ?
