They are hitting deer like crazy around here. It is rut season. Seems like every few miles there is a grease spot on the highway.

Have any of you guys ever had something similar happen? I’m going to crawl under it in a little while to look. The internet seems to think I should have called the police to get a report for insurance purposes, but it’s just a dent and it seems they would have more important things to deal with. I don’t really want to get insurance involved if I don’t have to.
The second week I owned mine I hit a turkey in mid-flight and put a crease in the leading edge of the hood. Had not got the bug deflector yet. I paid a paintless dent guy out-of-pocket. You can't tell a thing. I would get a 4 wheel alignment just to be sure but it looks okay. See if a paintless dent guy will give you a cash discount.

Here in Va, Shenandoah Valley area, you literally cannot go on any back roads without seeing a carcass on the roadside. The flocks of buzzards and crows are all over the area.

Hi Folks,

Here in Green Valley AZ in the Sonoran desert we have both White Tail and Mule Deer but rare to have a Deer/Vehicle interaction. However, our scourge is Javalina...Relatives of the European wild boar. Look like harry pigs but not pigs... Solid animals that if you hit one you have suspension damage in your insurance claim. Heards of these things complicate things when they cross the road. Nasty and smelly animals....

Car hunting is so damn expensive. Really should think about getting a license and a rifle. Couple of years ago I hit an Antelope ($2,500) at night while towing, followed a month later by hitting a deer ($250). Your damage looks minimal. Don't fix it and use it as a talking point..."A deer ran into me."
