Hit a deer this morning. Luckily it doesn’t look to bad. The grill is cracked throughout and needs replaced but I’m more worried the bumper which looks slightly bent in.
Can anyone with some experience down there tell me if I’ve done any real damage, or what else I should check?

The impact was mostly on the passenger side. I managed to find what looks to be a supporting bracket that has less clearance on the passenger side (red) than on the drivers side (green).

Thanks for the help.

Why not let your insurance fix it? Maybe sensors needed? An estimate by a professional for repairs seems the way to go for our costly technologically advanced trucks. Damage doesn't look bad but who knows.
A comp repair is not supposed to be a strike against you nor raise your rates of insurance.

Yeah good points. I’ll be taking it to a professional place this week.

I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle be in that good of shape (at least superficially) after hitting a deer! However, I agree with the general consensus to have a professional take a look at it. Hopefully they'll let you know that the effects are as minor as they appear in your pictures!

Yeah I got off lucky. It was the 3rd deer. I had the sun in my eyes and steep embankments on both sides. The first deer came onto the road out of nowhere, slammed on my brakes, he ran, a second followed and I missed that one and just then a 3rd materialized out of nowhere. Luckily, he got hit on the very end of my braking before coming to a compete stop, sent him rolling and he got up and ran off.

Honestly doesn't look bad at all. about 10 years ago I had a Saturn Vue, SUV with plastic body. I hit a big deer in the winter on a day when it was about -10 out. The bodywork shattered into 10 million pieces like it was red confetti. It was spectacular.

Luckily here we rarely see large animals running wild just a few small cars. Just tell your insurance you tried to get the deer's info but it ran off.:giggle:

I counted 21 deer late yesterday in my yard and crossing my driveway. They're everywhere now. The good news is that hitting one won't make your insurance premium go up. It's not considered an accident, but an incident.
