Hated the FX4 silver lower fascia and skid plate. Decided to Peel coat them black and also painted my tow hooks orange to match my WildTrak decals.

I know this mod isn’t for everyone but I dig it.

With the spray wrap you don’t need to sand, I just used denatured alcohol to completely clean everything. For the tow hooks, I used a 320 grit scuff pad.
I am going to do this eventually, have been wavering between something like this or Raptor.

Did you smooth it out before you applied, and if so what grade?

I hadn't noticed the unsightlyness of the front bumper, but I have the Blackout option on a black truck.

Totally understand. If you have any questions, feel free to ask ?
Good to know, I’m new to taking apart $40k vehicles and figuring things out on my own. Lol.

Is the blacked out edition also for the FX4 skid plate?

Much appreciated! This was my first time using peel coat instead of plasti dip. It seems to lay on better and dry faster than plasti dip. Perfect time to coat the valance too since the lower valance has to come off anyways to get to the hooks.
Peel coat looks awesome on the bumper, I have been wanting to paint my tow hooks as well.

great job!

I did the same thing a few months ago. I decided to paint the plastic valance Magnetic Gray like my bumper. its holding up decent, there are a few nicks from stones, but I have more than enuf paint left to repaint the whole thing whenor if it gets too bad.

As for the skid plate I used satin black from a rattle can, not too worried about appearance under there. if it gets scratched, touch up in place.

Did this with mine the last spring. Had to replace the lower grille insert due to an altercation at an icy intersection last winter. While I had the facia off I painted it satin black. Haven't done anything with the skid plate yet. After I did it, I kept looking at my truck more because it looked so much better than before.

You'll get use to it soon enough being on here. lol I've never replaced perfectly good tires (800 miles) and added so many mods than I've done with my Ranger. All my F150's I'd just drive them as I bought them. That's never going to happen on here even if you intend to. :curse:?

so I’m buying a silver skid plate and lower facia valance to give my Ranger tremor a more Raptor/fx4 look. I know I’ve seen posts on this elsewhere. My question is does the lower valance come in silver or will I need to have it painted?

thanks!
