I have the Mountains to Metal insert, really like it. Same week after install I walked by the front and discovered I had caught a large bird with the insert. Don't know if it would have caused damage but glad I didn't have to find out.
Brian,
Did the bird lodge into the insert or was it deflected off of it?

Semi-lodged, little more than laying against it but didn't really have to prize it out either. No damage to the clips or insert just a mess to clean up lol

Oh yeah - I forgot to address your other question. Like others answered about the M2M, the Putco uses existing mounts that are pre-drilled for the license plate bracket as well at some 3M tape for the rest.

And another possible tip, the Putco logo is visible and I should have at least used a Sharpie on it. It just sticks up enough to not look good ... not good design on their part.

Apart from that, I've been happy with it and it does kind of complete the front end look.

In this pic you can just barely see the two 10mm bolts that Uncle Willie mentions.

Thanks. The way the mounts are spread out on the M2M, it looks like tape is not needed in addition to the push pins?

5 minute install, mountains to metal. Got it off Amazon.
No tape, just mounts into the existing holes, with supplied hardware.

Just for reference for other readers. Here is the Putco. Two pushtab mounts on top and two strips of 3M tape.

That's the one I currently have. Took me about 10 min to install, including the time it took to get my old, fat ass down on the ground and back up again. It's been on for well over a year now and it is still tight.
AND...I didn't have to remove anything to install it.

I wonder how those would hold up to my pushing the snow with the truck. The snow gets jammed into that opening.
