You never know where the limits are until you exceed them. He probably could have made the corner with the speed he had, but when he hit the throttle it broke free, and I'd say unfortunately hit hard. He could do the same move 10 times without damaging anything.

Breaking things is part of playing hard, and learning what not to do. Laugh with the boys, post the video, get it fixed and try again. Good on him for not just cruising malls with 35s and a Vanilla Latte.

I know everyone says "more money than brains," but he's probably just another guy that never pays a vehicle or home off. Forever in debt. Ruining a new Bronco for the e-lolz is some additional drama.

He might want to consider a future in mall crawling.

Follow up video the entire M190 front end will need to be replaced (spider gear blown out) and it is not a serviceable unit. Why put a non serviceable front unit in a 4x4?

You live in the US.... so you know it's all about the $$$$

"they" are saving money by fitting non-servicable units and/or "they" are making more profit by requiring a broken one to be thrown out and completely replaced rather than repaired.

The first thing to take into account other than the speed was the angle he fell into that mud hole. I’m sure that angle of attack would’ve handed a Jeep and even the mighty Ranger it’s ass.

Rather than giving Ford crap for it failing, I’m going to commend them for the owner still being able to drive in 2wd. The way it sounded coming out of the hole, I was waiting to see a clip of it being mounted on a flatbed.

I used to teach our Ford Engineers how to drive off road in an Advanced Off Road School in Big Bear CA. on a double black diamond course. This guy deserved what he got as he must have been a total rookie... He drove over an exposed boulder... You should put a tire on the boulder to insure clearance. His speeds were way to fast and when faced with an obstacle like the mud bog...stop...get out and survey the obstacle and plan your path not just plunge into the bog...

Back Story, Neighbor bough a Jeep...brand new shiny yellow Jeep. This purchase made him an offroad "expert". So off with a 4x4 club on a desert adventure...he bragged about his skill set to any and all who would listen. He waited in line as the Jeeps carefully negotiated a difficult off camber narrow passage. So when it came his turn he charged into the passage and flipped the new Jeep on its side, wedging it into the sides of the passage... It was winched out sideways and tore up the whole left side.... $11,000 later the body shop got it back on the road but it looked like crap...poor job. Neighbor never when off roading again....dumb jerk....

videos like that scare me, dont wanna be in that spot. that wheelin along and then suddenly no more go feeling is awful. seemed like he hit that while all the variables aligned against him to equal no more worky worky. a different path in and he may have been ok. I am not at all defending the bronco or ford. i know this is an over simplification but in my "mind sealed unit" or "non repairable" just means planned obsolescence and future cash flow planned out ahead. id be excited over a solid axle front and rear bronco and ranger. nothing is idiot proof though. fast hard jaunting stop like that with the setup under strain likely would have damaged other rigs.

damn. you hear folks saying things in situations like these that are like," go for it, f it or get some". well, he went for it. he got some and he f-ed it. His last name must be Duke. just a good ol boy.
that was a nice piece of air he got. but what a hard hit. lucky he didnt snap his dang neck.

Yeah mud holes can be surprises. I remember many years ago when I was a member of an Australian Jeep club ( I had a Bronco at the time but I also had / still have, a WW2 Jeep which allowed me entry) and we went out for a day run into a state forest. There was a monster water hole across the track most people ( including me ) tried to keep a wheel up on the hard edge and we all got through. Someone had to be a hero and try going through the deepest part and just gun it. Of course they got stuck. The person involved decided the solution was right foot. 360 cubes of Jeep V8 horsepower flat to the floor. A pair of enormous rooster tails and no forward movement. More right foot, more rooster tails from all four wheels ( Yay for Quadratrac) and still no forward motion. All of a sudden he found traction, and that Jeep Cherokee, literally leapt out of the bog hole, temporally took flight, hit a tree by the side of the track , and slid back into the bog hole! He got home at the end of a friendly tow rope. Holed his radiator and snapped the transfer case chain.
You goes wheelin and you takes your chances.
I still laugh and would have given a weeks salary for a picture or video at the time.

Wonder if he actually realised that movies that show that sort of thing ;

A: Use specially strengthened and prepared trucks
B: Keep a couple of spares in case things go wrong
C: Use trained stuntmen.
D: Peole doing it actually get paid to risk their necks.
