When I had my 2001 Camaro SS, the main people who wanted to drag race me were women in minivans.

Once I had a lady powerbraking next to me at the light. My car had the SLP Loudmouth exhaust (loud, annoying, droning, but sounded like a NACAR when revved) so I revved it at her and she backed down.

But in her defense I guess it did look like an easy kill for a Honda Odyssey.

I can honestly say with all the sports cars I've had I never had any women in mini vans want to race me. lol ?

My worst offender was my heavily modified turbo Rx7, which was WAY faster than my SS.

It seemed to draw BMWs like sugar draws ants.

BMW stood for Behind My Wankel. ?

they're just late picking up the kids from soccer.
to the testosterone overloaded male, this is mistaken as "racing"
Yeah they're the ones who drive like maniacs out here. I can see them coming in my rear view mirror doing 60 in a 35 and passing me like I'm standing still. Usually some soccer mom in her mini van putting on her makeup while driving.

I can honestly say that when I saw her cower before the thunderous roar of the LS1 engine, I saw 4 additional chest hairs sprout out around my gold chain.

Got into a little tussle with a presumingly stock 6.2 Yukon Denali this morning. I was in normal driving mode and launched very softly as I’m well aware I could take a stock 6.2 with my setup in sport mode at full song. Well he punched and I did too (stoplight that leads directly to 65mph zone). I pulled about 1.5-2 cars on him and shut down at 85. He flew by a second later and I got behind him at the stoplight and… it was a Hennessy Supercharged 6.2 Yukon! I’m sure he was very confused about what just happened. I do not promote street racing, but I will consider “spirited acceleration comparison” at times ?

Also, on a unrelated side note. Found the smoking gun with my increasingly bouncy ride with FX4 shocks! 10 months old and 7k miles… they were blown! Didn’t notice when I removed them for some reason. But explains a lot. No wonder the fox feel like butter!

Started to rain some so could not get a good launch. Even then ran 5.95 back to back and then a 6 flat. A lot of wheel spin on all three tries.
I think the GPS lags a bit so who knows but a solid high 5s truck I’m sure of.
Maybe mid 5s with a better launch.
I did one 1/4 mile and got a 13.96. Again horrible launch.
I had the 120 lb wife in the truck also. 1/4 tank of gas.

It really is crazy to see. Downtown St Louis on the weekends, there are lots of Hellcats and Shelby's racing on the interstate.

With my '06 GT it sounded really fast. But, I was careful with some of the tuners that ran around town. Sound just don't win no races. :)

I still hate the day I sold that car. It was quite fun to drive. I've been looking at a few S197's lately, but the dang prices are unreal.

I used to hit test an tune at dragway 42. It was a neglected track with out of date facilities so it was never crowded. You could get 10 runs in in 3 hours. One night a mini van was in the other lane from me an he had on the Gaucho Marks fake glasses/nose/mustache on. I was cracking up an cut a terrible light.

Got into a bit of a tussle this morning at a stop light, with a 2021 Ranger Lariat 4X4. No contest really, but when we both pulled into the BigR parking lot together, he ask me if I was driving one of the new V6s. Enough said!

I've had to out my tail between my legs a few times. Back in the day when I had my Z28 I got smoked by a few "sleepers" that I thought were a cinch to beat.
My 89 Ranger was definitely a sleeper with the 2.9L V-6, 5 speed and 2WD. Beat Camaros, TA's, S-10's with the 4.3, and many others.... BUT, did get my butt handed to me one night out cruising University Ave in W'loo/Cedar Falls IA....it was a Olds Calais with the Quad 4 engine....and he smoked me bad !!
