I have never heard of the BFGoodrich Trail Terrain tire. Why would you get this over the All-Terrain T/A KO2?
My truck is 2wd, (with locker) This tire is primarily designed for paved roads but is capable of the occasional off road trek, gravel, fire roads, etc. Two thirds of my total mileage thus far have been towing my Casita travel trailer. I will do some off grid camping in the future and I'll be better suited with these tires to access those areas.
I have the Hankook AT2 in this size (265/70R17) and they are about 2 pounds lighter, but looking at the 285/70R17, it is really the lightweight for this size tire. If I decide to move up to that size, the Trail Terrain would be worth the consideration.
I put Falkens on my FX4 2019 Ranger and love them. Whatever the manufacturers may start with, I will be changing them out for Falkens from now on!

Dave, I just put a set of KO2 Rubi take-offs (285/70R17) on my Jeep, and so far so good. They are as quiet as the 255/18 Bridgestone AT's that came on it, and ride quite smooth. They are load C rated, and running them at 35 psi seems to be the sweet spot. Now we'll just have to wait, and see if they live up to all the hype. But one thing for sure, they do look good.

I know the Jeep will be noisier in the cab than the Ranger but I just didn't want to hear that tire humming you get from some off road tires.

No I ordered the hardtop which will basically be off 8 months out of the year out here. I didn't think he'd be able to touch that price. Heck everyone out here is full msrp and some with ADM's.@AzScorpion
I did brother, and the plan is still viable. Just on hold right now as there isn't any hurry on my end. Funny story. Out of respect for my friend, and salesguy at my local dealer I gave him a call. I ask for a price on the same truck, and he got back quickly with the full sticker price. After dealing with him for years I just couldn't let the opportunity to gig him go by unanswered. When I called he mumbled about knocking $500 off, and I told him I already had a 3% below invoice offer. He was quiet for a few seconds, and ask something about add-ons. I told him there was none, but the $180 doc fee. He said he needed to talk to his sales manager (Rick, who can be a dick at times). I told my salesguy that I knew what Rick would say, and that he didn't need to call me back if the answer was what I knew it would be. But, call me back he did, and all he could say was that they couldn't touch that price with a 10 foot pole. It was a fun conversation. I can't wait until I can drive the Bronco up there, and tell them the deal I got on it.
BTW, my old brain is worn out also. Is your Jeep going to be a soft top? If so the road noise will be a bit more as I'm sure you know. But, It shouldn't be nothing you can't deal with. I was surprised at how relatively quiet the KO2's are. They aren't silent, but the sound they make is as close to what any milder AT tire I've had in the past. Time will only tell how they will be in the long run.
With the hard top the road noise will be quite acceptible my friend. Might I suggest you look into the HotHead Head Liners with the sound strips. I have them in mine. The difference in heat transfer, and noise dampening really surprised me. Mark does a great job, and I don't think you will be disappointed.
Are any tires American made?
I'm pretty sure that, since their recent acquisition of Cooper, Goodyear is the last remaining passenger car tire company that is headquartered here.
