Hello

I read the master tire threads already didn't really find an answer. Got a 19 Sport 4x4 XLT with the factory 17" magnetic wheels on a stock front suspension. Am I okay to run the stock FX4 size 265/65/17 or a 255/70/17 size with my setup. Is there anything different about the FX4 front suspension that will keep me from running that size?

I am assuming the control arms and the spindle are the same the only difference is the shock and the coil spring? I don't want to go crazy big as fuel mileage is important to me but these stock bridgestones have got to go i need something a little more durable and would like something just a hair bigger.

Thanks

With the sizes you mentioned the dimensional diff based on numbers alone is the 255/70/17 is only .6 inch bigger in dia.
Almost negligible.

265/70/17 might be what you are after

Edit: unless that was a typo

This was my thinking as well OP. The B/S 255's are 30.1" . The 265/70's are 31.7" <-----THIS is what should have came on the 4x4 truck. Don't matter if it FX4 or not.
You will be pleasantly surprised on looks and handling. So glad I got rid of those Bridgestones.
Heads up, though. Your speedo and odo will be off 3-4mph and your spare will no longer match same rotation (revs per mile)

Isn't 265 65 17 your stock tire size?

My stock size is 255/65/17 since it’s a sport trim

I'm 255/65/17 Stock too on an XLT 4x4.

IMHO, I'd go as tall as possible first and then start widening out if there was dimensional space left.
